Unwanted Hair
Posted by Takara on April 22, 2012 at 2:44 pmHello Ladies-
Okay so i am a Strawberry Blonde and I just found out that I am NOT a candid for laser hair removal https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif. So I am wanting a better removal method of my unwanted hair other than shaving, all of blondes know that haveing this color you also may have sensitive skin so you have to deal with all the unwanted after shave issues. So are there any Ladies out there that have this hair color and what do you do for your unwanted hair. So I hope to get some great feedback because I want to know my other options if there are any of course I know about waxing but is there others????

Have you tried Nair? It only lasts about 3 days but it works!

If you have a little bit of patience i say go with a Silk-Epil or any or those machine that pull the the hair out. It last as long as wax, without the burn and i have patch that never grew back even if i stop using it years ago. Oh yes i'm lazy when it come to my legs and when hair are really long it don't go as well, i need to get back at it. Because i'm pretty sure that i would have not much left now if i had kept doing it.

Owies…..dont those Epis hurt? I do like the thought of using it other than having to stand in the shower.

At first there a ouchie factor yes lol but after a few time it was a lot better and doing it when you just jump out of the shower help a lot too. Just remember that when having you period it can be a little bit more sensitive just like it would be with lazer or wax

Tigger, did the epis really take off all the hair? Or did it leave patches behind? I have issues with waxing where there's always patches of hair left. 🙁

It take out even short and fine hair, you can ajust for fine hair. When i was using it it work really well and left nothing. I bet the new model work even better.

Uhhh, can you use it on the "girlie" parts? What about under your arms? Or should you use it only on your legs? Thanks….I am really considering this thing.

I was thinking of creating a thread about the most succesful hair removal ways for some time now. I read a bit about the electrolysis (electroepilation) and it's actually for very small areas, a bikini zone electrolysis would take up 7-15 hours. And it's also very painful, so anesthetics are required. I'm not actually afraid of pain, so waxing is something I'd consider. So, maybe any of you have tried out those at home wax heating bowl thingies? 😀

look online for European wax center. its the best wax ever! no burn doesn’t stick to skin no sticky left over wax and they have fantastic waxers…..i happen to be one 🙂

@Lyme i did try underarms, there a ouch factor for sure and you might want to put some talc before. I was so nervous and afraid it hurt that i was sweating like crazy, making the silk-epil stick to my skin lol. As for the girliy parts unless you want the "all clean up" look you can use it too. I never had the courage to do more than bikini lol

You can use IPL treatment to get rid off unwanted hairs. It is the best solution other than laser because it is cost effective and painless treatment. It provides better results in few sessions.

Thank you for bringing this topic. So far, I haven't find the best solution. Recently, I've decided to try the IPL method and after only 1 session on the whole body, within 24 hours I felt completely exhausted – like a discharged battery with a disastrous effect on my thyroid (I did blood tests!). It took me at least 3 months to recover. Maybe for some of you it works, but I am very sensitive person and you might not know that the pulse light goes over the energetic meridians of the body!!!! It's a kind of radiation…. I talked to the doctor who reimbursed me partially the session, saying that I was the first person to complain about the negative effects of this method.
I still look for another less harmful solution, maybe something like the Silk Epil….
I just wanted to share my experience…

I recently bought an epilator and it works great, less mess and burn than waxing. The first session is the worst, like waxing, the more you do it the less it hurts. I do my whole body; legs, bikini region and underarm, underarm definetly hurts the most. Tigg i did the same as you i was sweaty like crazy the first time lol! the key to epilators is keeping the skin taunt, it will hurt less and Lyme you even do your lady parts this way without accidents https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif.
