Hey! So this question is for any of you that have vaulted ceilings.

So I finally convinced the hubs to rearrange the bedroom do we could put the pole up and take advantage of our high ceilings. I got the vaulted ceiling attachment but our beams aren’t thick enough to house the entire ceiling mount. We drilled the two screws in that would drill into the beam but hubs says there’s no point in screwing in the other four screws since it will just drill into nothing. This may be a silly question but will this be sturdy enough? I haven’t had a chance to play around on it yet but there’s a bit of bowing going on already when I shake it. I guess that could be because it’s taller too though. I tried calling Xpole but I think they were closed for the night.

I had the same issue. Fortunately my neighbor is a contractor and came over to put my pole up for me.
He said its not safe with just the two screws so he put a 6×4 across two beams and attached the mount to that.

Hi! I had the same problem and just like Jasmine put up a supporting plank of wood to secure it better. It’s held for quite a while 🙂

    Good luck!

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a picture of their mount and the added plank? We just bought a house with a vaulted ceiling, too. =/

Yep, my hubby literally took a scrap of thick wood and screwed the vaulted ceiling piece through that. Still want to make sure you do it in the most supportive part of the ceiling though *nod*

My fiancé cut out a section of ceiling and mounted a 4×6 between the existing studs, replaced the square of ceiling and then screwed in the mount. My less invasive idea was to paint 3 2×4’s to match the ceiling and screw those through the ceiling into the existing studs side by side then screw the mount into that- but he wanted to get all fancy :p

this are all great ideas, I have the same issue, 2×4 perpendicular beams, and a vault mount that is 4×7, so they are too thin for the mount, I need either to screw a 6×4 in between two beams and the mount to that, or a 6×4 screwd to one beam and then the mount to that. If you have any more experience and can help me it would be awesome, Im ordering my pole on monday and I want to know whats best to do
