Ok everyone heres the latest. LOL I did a one armed dance today, I couldn’t keep myself away any longer. Will post the vid soon. Don’t worried I didn’t use my arm.
So my arm is feeling better, no more burning, but my deltoid and elbow are sore. I still can’t use my bicep without the tendon popping, so I still can’t carry or lift with it. I really with I know why it is popping?? But I wanted to say thank you all for your help and concern. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Popping??? Sounds painful… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
But at least you’re feeling better. Maybe if you just stay off it long enough it’ll just go away and it’ll be one of those things you look back on someday and wonder "WTF was all that???" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Keep us posted!

VEENA!!! what the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!! what’s happened!? i just read all four pages and can barely believe it!! here is my professional, aka talking out of my ass advice: 1) I’ll fly back for another visit and will carry Henry around so he’s not fussy. 2) I’ll color with CJ, W and A nonstop to keep them preoccupied so you can go to the acupuncturist. Ok, so that’s totally unrealistic, but I’m so upset to hear that you’re hurt. Dancing is so important to you!!! I think you absolutely MUST advocate for yourself, get a second, third, fourth opinion. I can have my Dad come out there if you want and he’ll make a big scene for you. He’s good at making scenes, and he always gets what he wants- he’ll make sure you get the BEST care possible. I’m so sorry V, I’ll be thinking of you! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

ITS NOT A MUSLCE OR TENDON TEAR!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
I wonderful friend of mine and Chris’s told me to check out this guy she had seen before. He does orthopedic massage and he’s a certified instructor of Manual Therapy.
The DRs had me doubting myself, they had been say "it has to be a muscle or tendon tear" My gut was telling me otherwise…I know my body, and there was NO bruising, NO huge amount of swelling and no sudden pain. But non of the Drs would adress that, they only looked at the fact that I couldn’t use my bicep to lift any weight! arrrrg, they treated me like I knew nothing. The two sentences the first dr said that will stick with me are "well how do you know" when I told him its not my elbow joint popping but the tendon and at the end of my visit when he said I can’t not use my arm for 3 weeks and I looked at him almost crying and reminded him I have a 7 month old!! He goes "well what do you want me to do about it?" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Ok anyway getting past my disappointment with the dr….
This guy I saw today was FABULOUS!!!!! Its not a muscle tear….the drs had me freaking out thinking that was the only thing it could be. Everything he said made perfect sense and it confirmed what I had been suspecting! He LISTENED TO ME! It was just injured some how, could have been a move I did, or the fall I took with Henry while caring him in his car seat. My biceps muscle was super tight and pretty much wouldn’t relax, but it seems like the heart of the problem was my forearm. To put it plainly, the muscles at your elbow (pronators) that turn your palm to face up, well they are all crazy tight and mess up. I blame the twisted grip!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif I knew my body didn’t like that move, but neglected to listen to it. He also looked at my old nerve injury and said it seem pretty irritated and I don’t have to live with tingly fingers, it can be fix it just takes a loooong time for nerves to heal themselves, but its not impossible like I had been told by the DRs.
I believe in the power of the human mind and that we have a tremendous ability to help heal what hurts us. So I still shouldn’t use it to pull or lift things, but I can now take an active roll in getting better, and now that I know what muscles are affected, I will be able to teach myself how to prevent this. Sooooo happy!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
The prescription is…. movement, but easy, light eccentric (negative) movement, ice, massage. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

YAY! Oh Veena, I’m so glad you found out what is was and how to heal it properly. Both my parents were doctors, all their friends were doctors, my sister is a doctor and I can’t stand the profession! The medical model is so out of touch with actually listening and helping people–it’s like the focus shifted from the patient to the doctor as god. I’m so happy that you’re going to be fine!

i´m so happy you´ve found out whats wrong and that you are on the road to recovery!
i didn´t want to say this before, not to freak you out, but in general doctors just don´t listen. my whole spine/muscle saga went on for over 8 yrs because nobody took my pain seriously and they just wouldn´t listen! i got passed around like a pingpong ball from general doctors, orthopedists , reumotologists, etc. untill finally i got sent to a psychiatrist (sorry i don´t know how to spell any of this stuff.lol) because it was probably all in my head! i did go and finally he listened! his thinking was you´re a dancer who knows your body, if you say your in pain it must be so and promptly sent me to a friend of his who is a sports doctor with one of the major portuguese futeball teams. he was in shock at the results of my exams and sent me to a neurosugeon. it could have been easily fixed with fisiotherapy if anyone had taken the time to listen. instead i had to get the operation and alot of fisio besides all the years of pain. plus i lost some of my range of movement and can´t spot anymore. very dizzy piroettes now.lol
anyway, sorry about my whining here.
get well soon!!!!
big hugs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif frida https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -

I’m happy to hear that you saw someone that seemed to give a damn.
I swear, being in the medical field has caused me to be such a stickler for bad health care. I think that all medical providers with bad attitudes and poor bedside manor should be dropped off a cliff. If you don’t like dealing with people and their complaints …why in the hell would you become a doctor?!
I’m glad you found someone you liked that listened to you. Good for him!

Yay Veena! I am so glad you were able to see someone who was willing to help!!! I still can’t believe the nerve of that guy…I’m really happy for you that you have a plan of action and a positive outlook https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Here’s my update: My general doctor told me she isn’t trained to deal with athletes because 95% of her patients are sedentary so she didn’t feel like she could give me a specific diagnosis which is why she referred me to an orthopedist. Now THAT"s a good doctor! She’ll admit when she can’t help and send me to someone who can! She said that she is so happy to see a young person who is exercising and taking care of their health so she wants to make sure I don’t get a serious injury and end up having to quit! Have I mentioned she’s awesome? I got Xrays just to make sure there is nothing wrong structurally. Anyway, no definite diagnosis yet but I’ve made an appointment with the orthopedist (in 2 weeks), my personal guess is that I irritated the bursa because of the location and weird sensation of hot an cold. Either that or I’ve pinched a nerve? I have no shooting pain, no exact location of pain, just an ‘off’ feeling and a weird hot/cold sensation. Azzwoo, any feedback on this?
