Videos worth the money or just collecting dust?
Posted by Linuxgirl on April 27, 2013 at 11:22 pmI bought Aletha Austin's stretching for pole, waiting for Amazon to deliver it. This is the first pole video I have used, though I find myself addicted to Studioveena, Anyone else buy videos and use them? Find the video helpful and worth the money spent or have a good review of Alethas stretching for pole or any videos suggestions that won't just sit and collect dust?

I have heard no reviews of Alethea’s dvd’s unfortunately. 🙁
However, I have heard time and time again great praise of Jamilla DeVille’s Art of Pole series. Many awesome USPDF competitors have cited Fawnia’s pole vid(s?) as the foundation of their skills.
I have not had the $ for any of these vids, but I would definitely check them all out if I could. Hope this was helpful. 🙂

I use this app called nexercise, it gives you points for working out , 2000 points equal 1 amazon dollar. I found alethas stretch for pole used, I got it with my workout points used for $21.00 shipping included. I just save up my points, another good app is called viggle, check into a t.v show or news, whatever is on t.v it picks up from the audio 10,000 points equals a $5.00 CVS gift card, I saved up and had $25 in CVS gift cards that's how I bought my new nail polish. In this economy, money is tight no matter what and for the luxury items I've had to get creative. Ill post a review of it and thanks for the heads up on the other videos.

I got Alethea's DVD's' for Christmas. They are okay, but for me I need a little more detailed instruction. Out of the four pack, stretching for pole was the easiest for me to follow. Still like Veena's lessons better.

I got Aletheas pures splits DVD.
I do love it,however, when I bought it, it was my understanding, that it would be for beginners(me) to advanced. She also states that a coupleof times,in the DVD. I most admit, that I cant see how its for beginners at all. There are too many stretches that Imnot flexible enough to do yet, and there is no beginner variation for it. It goes from advanced stretch to super advanced, I feel. I think that when Im closer to my straddles and splits, thats its gonna be really great to use her DVD, the rest of the way. But for now, I use Veena's, because she makes room for all levels, and shows how you should do the stretches if you are a beginner. She also explaines the stretches, where in Aletheas DVD, I feel like I should have some knowlegde to the stretches, that I naturally dont have, since I then wouldnt need any instruction.

I have Jamella's DVD's and they are brilliant but I personally need things to be broken down much more and I have learnt moves better through using Veena's lessons.
My alethea DVD are collecting dust which is a shame. I tend to use YouTube more than anything these days. Waiting for a good month with money so I can subscribe to Veena's lessons again!!
