I just bought the Mighty Grip Gloves WITH TACK. The first time I used them they were absolutely fantastic. Super grippy and I felt really stable and comfortable trying new tricks. With super sweaty hands, these things are life savers! BUT the third time I tried them, they seemed slippery and not at all tacky anymore. I sprayed a TINY bit of alcohol on them to clean them but I can't seem to get that originally tacky feeling back. What happened?? Any suggestions?? Am I suppose to clean them? Frustrated.

Please clean the palm part of the glove with soapy water and a sponge. I think perhaps some grip aid may have transferred to the palm of the glove.

If this cleaning does not help please send the gloves back to us and we will replace them for you. We have never run into this problem and I would love to see what may have caused this problem .

    Thank you,

Hi Joel! Thank you so much for the email and the post on Studio Veena! I really appreciate the prompt and helpful feedback. I did what you suggested and washed the gloves with warm soap and water. That definitely seemed to help but I must have really gunked them up good! I am going to try and clean them after every use to keep them tacky.

I definitely agree with you when you said some grip aid must have transferred over.  I can still see the residue on the gloves but I had a two hour studio practice yesterday and the tackiness is back! Thank you so much for your help. I am such a Mighty Grip Glove (with tack, of course) advocate. I have turned at least 2 people on to it at the studio where I practice. No more "off days" where you feel like you just can't get a grip on the pole. These gloves are heaven and even though I DO use them more often then not, I don't necessarily feel like they are hindering me or keeping me from developing a grip with just skin. I feel stronger every time I use them and I don't have to waste time wrestling with the towel and spray bottle of alcohol every five seconds!

Maybe someday I won't have to use them for tricks that I am super comfortable with and strong enough for, but until then I would rather just put on my gloves and pole than spend time fussing over sweaty palms. THANK YOU!

    Hi Lauren,

    My pleasure.

You have hit the nail on the head with how Mighty Grip products are supposed to be used.

They are, primarily, training and/protective gear while learning the different maneuvers on the pole.. Yes, the idea is for you to build enough strength where you will no longer have to use the gloves. Hopefully the use of the gloves will speed the process of building strength.

This is a great thread! Thanks Joel. I know sweaty hands are awful for some dancers!
