No, drinking liquids while eating has no effect.  The email that has been circulating for the last several years is not based on any science whatsoever.

There is nothing wrong with drinking while eating. Many dieticians recommend it because you feel fuller faster.

This is the email that I am talking about: Cold Water = CANCER

Drinking cold water after meal = Cancer!
    (this is not a joke)

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this "sludge" reacted with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

BTW, Dr. Hiromi suggested not drinking while eating because he believed that it would dilute  digestive enzymes.

I’m also a former water hater. Now its literally all I drink and the only thing that really quenches my thirst.

always carry a water bottle w you. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink, sip at all times. Continuously. Even at work keep the bottle by the register or where ever u can see it. Sip sip sip.

When I can’t stop the urge to taste soda I always make sure I waste 90% of what I served myself. So ill open a can sip it a little and throw the rest away. Or serve myself soda in little expresso cups so that its literally 2 sips of soda.

I PROMISE, kicking the soda will help u loose weight almost instantly.

I would suggest on the coffe but I also have trouble w that one cause I feel I need it for energy. But I know its just mental cause I eat breakfast and a fruit smoothie every morning so I’m energized. Love my coffee, I just fight the urge.

I do not have an issue with them.  Some do since they have both coloring agents and fake sugar.

A great way to increase your water intake is to make it fun!

I use a water bottle and colored hair elastics.  For example, my water bottle will hold 2 cups of water (16oz) so if my goal is to drink 8 cups in a day I will put 4 colored hair elastics around the bottom of the bottle.  Everytime you finish and refill the bottle you can roll an elastic up to the top.  So you can not only visually see how much you have drank throughout the day, but how close or far you are from your daily goal!

I does have chemicals and food colorings. I used crystal light to start drinking water but eventually gave it up. For flavoring add a lemon to your water it changes the taste so much. I feel like the mio will cause some harm in the long run.

I cause more damage in one night of partying and drinking than I ever will from drinking Mio….at least that is how I look at it!

Here here Chem!  That's how I justify my diet coke addiction.  Of all the bad things I could do, surely a little aspartame here and there won't be too bad

Thank you Webmaster for that link. I have a bad kidney and when it was still recovering, I felt so thristy all the time. I couldn't take a 30min bus ride without feeling like I was dyign of thirst. I drank so much water, much more than 8 glasses a day, I would say almost twice that. During this time, for some reason, I developed several cavities as well as some nutritional deficiencies even though my diet had not changed except for drinking lots and lots of water. I learned that drinking way too much water will flush out nutrients before your body an absorb them. http://www.livestrong.com/article/544270-does-drinking-too-much-water-wash-out-the-vitamins/

Now that my kidneys are doing better, I no longer feel the need to drink water constantly.

Chemmie, that's the first time I'm seing this email 🙂 It has been awhile that I've read his but, I was just recently considering reading it again (I borrowed it then and gave it back, so now I should just buy it). Well if the enzymes are diluted I guess it makes digestion a bit more of a challenge, don't you think?
