Most of his theories on this have been debunked by peer review.

I bought a giant reusable cup from Starbucks (24oz sized) and I keep that at my desk at work. My goal everyday I am there is to drink 2 of them. That way I have at least 48oz of water in my system. Im also a 'cant start my day w/o a cup of coffee' gal. Ive been cutting back on my coffee intake since my new tumbler only holds 10oz. I try to only have one soda a day, typically at lunch. But trust me there are days where soda tastes like crap and I wonder why im still drinking it! I do the mio stuff from time to time if I really dont want just plain water. I have some mio in my desk drawer at work.

Well, I study in medical university and some proffesors that have mentioned anything related to the digestive system, agree with this theory. On the other hand, I am no gastroenterologist but neither are you, so we should just agree that we are not experts and stay with our own opinions. I'll stick to my guns 🙂

I LOVE water.. I can't fathom how you cannot?! That being said, I really dislike soft drinks and anything flavoured.. So.. yeah
To help me drink 'enough' water, I have a water bottle at my desk (or wherever I'll be frequenting most often throughout the day), and make sure I get through the bottle throughout the day.

Another interesting snopes article.

Remember our bodies are amazing machines. They manage enzymes, alkalinity, and other chemical balances with relative ease. There is very little in the way of standard fare that we can introduce that our body can't control for.
I am reminded of an article I was reading about the new Alkaline water craze. It turns out that you can't adjust your body's alkalinity by drinking alkaline water since your body controls its overall alkalinity with its own mechanisms. What you can do by drinking Alkaline water is increase your chances of kidney stones as alkaline water will decrease the absorption of calcium leading to much of the excess calcium being deposited in places from which its painful for it to exit.

Worry no more, https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/bc360416-d89d-11df-ab19-12313b090e12, about drinking cold water after your meal.
From http://www.hoax-slayer.com/cold-water-cancer.html
There is no mention of a connection between drinking cold water and cancer on the http://www.cancer.gov/ website or in other reputable cancer health resources. Nor have I discovered any news reports about such a connection. If the information in the message were true, it would almost certainly be well documented by both the medical establishment and the media. It is a very common practice to consume cold water or other cold beverages at mealtime.

Claims that drinking cold water after a meal can cause cancer are unfoundedTherefore any connections between cold water and cancer would have long since been extensively studied and reported. The stomach's natural heat will bring all contents to a uniform temperature soon after eating. Even ice-cold water would not stay cold long enough inside the stomach to actually "solidify the oily stuff". Moreover, according to BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/stomach/stomach.shtml:
As soon as food enters your stomach, your stomach lining releases enzymes that start breaking down proteins in the food. Your stomach lining also secretes hydrochloric acid, which creates the ideal conditions for the protein-digesting enzymes to work.
This chemical break down, along with rhythmic muscular contractions, turns all of the stomach's contents into a thick semi-liquid mass called http://www.answers.com/topic/chyme and moves it into the duodenum, the first section of the small intestine. Thus, even if cold water did solidify oily substances in the stomach contents (highly improbable), the resulting "sludge" would soon be converted into chyme and it would not enter the duodenum more rapidly than any other material.
Some http://www.askdrsears.com/html/4/T045600.asp do claim that cold water can slow digestion. However, even if this slowing did occur, it would certainly not fundamentally disrupt digestion in the way described in the message nor would it lead to cancer.

I don’t know if anyone said this yet but adding a splash of 100% cranberry juice to your water flavors it really well and you get extra health benefits from the cranberry. I hate drinking plain water too, but I’ll drink tons of this.

This "drink cold water=get cancer" claim makes no sense to me as well. I think what chemgoddess caught in my first message was the "preferably warm", when I mentioned drinking water in the morning. I only said that because… well, you know, it's morning, wake your digestive system with warm food 🙂

beginner2, I was not worried nor did I ever believe that. The text was added because GiedreB did not know what I was referencing earlier in the conversation.

I started the BeachBody Ultimate Reset and to get everything in as well as my medications, I have started to drink 1/2 L of water before I get out of bed and 1/2 L when I get in bed. That means I only have to drink 1 L during the day and this isn't that difficult to do. So I get my water without thinking about it.
