What are your favorite Pole Events?
Posted by Brumby on September 3, 2012 at 9:46 pmI recently had the pleasure of attending MaryEllyn's Midwest Pole Dance competiton. I had an amazing time! So I want to know, what are everyone's favorite pole events to attend? Please include details about your experiences including cost. Thanks for sharing!

In Australia the highlight of my year is Miss Pole Dance Australia. It's a National competition held by Bobbi's Pole Studio at Enmore Theatre in Sydney in November. It is always a huge production with hilarious MC's, a spectacular opening performance by Bobbi's teachers, and fun and sexy performances from contestants. I've been to MPDA two years in a row but this year I'm trying something different: Australian Capital Pole CHampionships in Canberra. It's also in November so I can't really afford to go to both, but I'm interested to see how it's different from MPDA. I'm pretty sure it will be more serious and athletic and less about the entertainment side of pole.

I haven't gone to many events but Midwest Comp takes the cake for sure! I absolutely enjoyed Mary Ellyn's big pole jams she used to have too – they were so intense and full of love – everyone was nailing new things ALL over the place – it wa off the hook because you had lik 60 people or so in one room sharing!!!!!

I knew Charley was not going to say anything about this, but she organizes one serious showcase. I have been trying to get out to one for the last few years but I will NOT miss the one in 2013!!
I am also looking forward to attending some of the Head over Heels events in North Carolina.
I enjoy showcases and jams. While comps and big conventions are neat I just think it would be too much for my brain to process, let alone so much going on that I would be bummed if I missed something.

Hehe, I have to TOTALLY agree with Scarletthoney on that one!!!! ^_^
Miss Pole Dance Australia was the first ever pole event I've ever been to and like you, I have now been 2 years in a row & will definitely NOT miss this year's!I have also been to Asia Pacific Pole Dance Championships last year in June and also enjoyed that too. The style is VERY different to MPDA but I appreciated the athleticism of the performers and competitors.
Bring on more pole events I say!!!
