I was thinking about it for such a long time and want to ask you all
What is it that inspires you to Pole Dance? One day when I will have time Im going to write a blog.
But for now that what I think:
As for me… It’s not the pole dancers or their routines. As much as I enjoy watching pole stars and competitions, and gymnasts tricks and limitless flexibility (contortions) it never made me run to my pole. I find my inspirations in many other places, like music, books, yoga, painting, other type of dance, ballroom, latin, lately even feng shui (space around me and vertical movement… but never in pole art itself.
Im wondering how many of you listening to a piece of music (even classical) counting the bit and transfer it into choreo while they are driving? How do you perceive the space around you including the pole and your movement?
May be someone will have even better questions and answers about inspirations?
But in the end of all does anyone ask themselves?.. and what does it mean Dance without the Limit?

Great post!! I feel the same, I’m inspired to go to my pole usually by other things. A song, other dance styles, needing to let feelings out.

I trying to be more creative here.
As everything else that I do in life I adapted it into a form creative enjoyment. Yes it is a form of sport and good exercise and Im grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it but thinking on a deeper level it is a DANCE.
A form of a very creative movement that takes a certain place in your home, in a club, for some may be kids playground, in general in your life… it caries certain style, mood, energy, tells a story… emotions. Sometimes when I paint just take a break and dance and it is totally unrelated to my current thought or what i do but in fact it recharges me and inspires to paint better. And it is not a distress technique it actually benefits me like I would sink into a pose in yoga and have this transformational blissful moment.

Great post! For me, first and foremost, I like to pole dance to express myself. I love music so much and being able to dance is like being able to see music. In addition, in all honesty, my inspiration to pole is to be able to dance like Leigh Ann Reilly. To be kind of candid, I’ve had some really bad relationship situations and have really been down on myself, my appearance, my self-worth, and how I value myself for quite a while, and when I first watched Leigh Ann years ago, I said to myself if I could dance like that, I wouldn’t care if I was single or not, and feel like I would base my worth on my own accomplishments and the knowledge that I could be good at something, instead of focusing so much on valuing myself based on whether or not other people did. This might sound desperate or really pathetic haha but I want to be able to be proud of myself and see myself through my own eyes and not the eyes of others. Pole dancing is what I want to do to achieve this.

Well I just joined StudioVeena yesterday. I think what inspires me… Is to become and to do the incredible. I look at the gymnast abilities and get astounded how many people take their bodies for granted. I get excited thinking of how I can train my body to do the abnormal! Secondly, and honestly- I grew up being 5ft tall and under 100lbs. I was always “cute” and “fragile”, there’s a point when you just feel like what the heck… I want to be SEXY! I want to embrace the art of creating beautiful figures! So my biggest pole inspirations are Amy Hazel and Maddiesparkledancer. Watching other people achieve their goals and succeed keeps me going because I know I can do it too! Yay for being able to express yourself and to identify with others who have had the same struggles! Pole brings people together! I love the community and judgement free zone! I can show my butt cheeks and no one thinks twice because we all understand each other! Lol!
