alas it would ruin my image totally

they would never pay attention to anything i said ever again even after 20 years of perfecting the louisiana shipyard engineer in charge bitch tone that sends men scramblin in all directions

and it's rare to find a 2 inch pipe hang alone and anchored top and bottom with nothing around it unless it absolutely has to be there and somebody forgot something

and metal is never allowed to drop to the deck they'd just stare open mouthed catchin flies while the torch burns

and that would be the end of me being the engineer in charge

sad but thats how it works with the good ol boys in the shipyard

I am a Stay at home mom to a wonderful soon-to-be 5yr old.

She'll be going to Kindergarten this fall so I may take up a part time job or volunteer during those hours we're apart. Not sure yet.

I’m a HS English teacher, who prefers to keep her extracurriculars under wraps, lol I do wish I could be more open, but when you teach teenagers, or teenage boys, I should say, don’t need to give them any more reasons to be distracted:)

I had to bump this thread.  Little P.O.'d right now from the Anderson Cooper show.  People that think if you pole you are stripper (nothing wrong with that) can maybe educate themselves and see we are from ALL backgrounds!  Heck, if I could copy and paste this onto my FB site I would!

I will hop on here since I am new, and Lyme bumped it up.

I briefly taught English in South America before working my way through college (3 jobs at a time, Retail, leased apts, offices, bartending, waiting tables, etc…) for a BA in Film/TV Production from GWU. I sold all of my stuff and moved from DC to San Diego after college on a one way flight with 3 suitcases, and (after some bad freelance experiences) ended up starting a successful pest control business with my husband 7 years ago. We work as a team, with him doing field work and me doing pretty much everything else for about 300 maintenance customers. I’m great at marketing and promoting small business.

I sew costumes and unique clothing when I'm not working my retail job. I also paint, sculpt, and busk. Since I do all that to earn money I guess it all counts! Really it's making costumes and clothing that makes me happiest and what I will always do in the end.  Eventually I hope to go back to school and learn the things I haven't learned/self-taught and then one day work for a film and take part in making something as amazing as the work in something like the LOTR trillogy. I would have given anything to have worked on some of the costumes for that film. 🙂

I have my Doctorate, Masters and Bachelors degrees in Horn Performance. I am a college professor teaching music, and a professional musician. I teach a private studio of horn students (in addition to my college students) and play in a few orchestras and chamber music groups. Last year I got to play in a couple of soundtrack orchestras for "Underworld Awakening" and "Mirror, Mirror." One of the funnest concerts I've played in was "Zelda Live" with the Seattle Symphony.

In July I opened Defiance Studios so am now a full time studio owner/pole instructor/hoop dance instructor.

I own a Mixed Martial Arts gym with my husband.  I coach beginner and boxing classes there, though not as often as I used to since opening the studio.  That is where most of my time is spent now!

I also have a video production company, two Etsy shops sellinng a variety of art/crafts (Custom Zombie and The Lighter Side), a travel business that specializes in red-eye bus trips, and I teach firearms classes.

    This is awesome!

I'm a fluoroelastomer technician (rubber chemist). I went to school for Biology and ended up in manufacturing. Basically, I get to make things and destroy them to figure out how they work and why they might fail.  I love it!

We are also working daily on our coral beds in the 600+ gallons of salt water tanks we have at home.  I do the water testing, he takes care of everything else (I got the good end of that deal).  The great thing about the tanks is they have lead my boyfriend to look into the PS poles so it can be out in the garage, away from any tank we have.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
