What do you do for a living?

I'm a retired nurse, "jack of all trades", wife, mother of a 30 and 27 year old, pole studio owner/instructor/entrepreneur! Retired from nursing to pursue my love of pole. I've always loved helping other, but as I got into my 50's, I wanted to help people stay healthy and improve their quality of life, (which in turn improves mine!) versus watching people die. I love bringing women together, not only teaching them pole, but teaching them how to love their fellow women! I can't change the world, but I can help women see things differently. So far women who otherwise would not give the time of day to someone solely on appearance, have changed how they see others….it also helps that when a woman walks through my doors, I have a strict policy…."Check your claws at the door!!" I do not tolerate catty behavior, and have banned a few women that felt the need to disrespect another. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what I do!!!!!

litlbit- That is so inspiring! I love that you're doing what you love. I'm actually making a career change here to because I want to do what I love.

I am an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) here in NC…however, I had crazy 24/7 sickness while preggo last year, so I quit. I am still licensed, but am a stay at home mommy to my 8 month old daughter. I'm also a full-time student, hoping to get my RN license within the next 1.5 years!
@race911 – I would LOVE to work on a horse farm! I used to ride on my college's equestrian team.

There's soooo many wonderful professionals here! I think I've been occupied reading about how interesting everyone's job is and what they do. I'm a National Guardsman married to an active duty soldier and a mom of 3 (2+1step). My job is 68J, or medical supply specialist. I count bandaids lol.I've been poling on and off since Feb 2009 and I've been enlisted 5 years. My goal is to become a pharmacist (PharmD) but I get sidetracked every time we get stationed elsewhere. I would like to become a pole instructor part time and open up a studio one day. Ahhh the dreams! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

00Diva, I thought I was the only dentist here! Well I’m a third year student anyway, haha. To my last post I can add that I have started working in a watch shop full time, so that I could pay for my dental supplies and buy that damned pole already lol

I supervise volunteers and interns on a crisis line. I also teach a two day suicide intervention workshop for caregivers and a 3 hour suicide alertness training for the general population. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make a living in a way that allows me to spend more time in the wilderness. Any suggestions?
