Hi, I'm a poler in Korea and  I get asked by people who are about to choose which pole to purchase from time to time. They ask me whether this pole above the link is an OK one to buy.

They are extremely cheap as Peakaboo pole. (less than 150$)

My personal opinion is … this one looks not safe.

    The joint part looks unsafe.

I want to say 'No, don't buy this 'cuz it looks like a fake X-pole(not an authentic X-pole) because it looks just like an X-pole from what it looks after it's been installed but the way the A-pole and B-pole get connected is not the X-joint style.

But I want to be really cautious on giving opinions out to people because I don't want to get into any kind of trouble with the seller or manufacturer.

Please tell me what you guys would say.

Thank you, with love to all veeners.

That is definitely a fake x pole. What concerns me is that the silicone ring on the dome comes off!

Yeah… I'd steer clear. You can always refer them to http://www.xpole.com, I believe you can contact them and verify whether or not someone is a legitmate Xpole vendor.

This a copy of an old XP X-Pole and not a good one!!!

    1. X-Pole eliminated screw joints 3 years ago. Copy poles, all use the original X-Pole pole screw joint parts dimensions BUT they use 'Push Fit' not welded connections. X-Pole would never use a push fit insert for a Joint – only ever welded. Copy pole copy poles using these parts and this method are very dangerous.

    2. It is clear it is a copy – this is worse than 1st generation X-Poles and  X-Poles have not been constructed even close to this way for well over 3 years!!

    a) The Upper Dome is not the correct construction

    b) The Bearing Unit is sticking out of the upper dome- with a real X-Pole it is flush

    b) The Dome Silicone ring it not specially heat welded to the dome – they even show you it moving – that will come off in use and the pole will slip – we know because we tried it 9 years ago with our very first prototypes!!

    c) The adjuster cover uses screws – not spring pins – and it does not fit as you can see from the video!

    d) X-Pole have never used a Black adjuster rod and there is the mismatching colored nut!!

Al in all a copy. And if you want to buy a product with tech support from guys who cant do not know what they are doing and cannot even put up a pole straight – then good luck!!!

This is not an X-Pole and we strongly recommended you buy a product from a reputable pole manufacturer who is known in the industry. Do not buy that product in our view it is not safe.

EVERY copy pole X-Pole has ever examined has been a disaster and dangerous (they cannot even copy properly!!) and the companies that sell them offer no real support or help and very often refuse to return the money for the rubbish product.

    X-Pole Tech Team

PS It appears they do not even know it spins – surely you would show that on the video!!!

Wow, that's even a copy of the ORIGINAL X-Pole that had the release rod holes at the TOP of the A-Piece, meaning you have to unscrew the adjuster all the way out to get the chopstick through, and then you need a 2m arm-span to use the chopsticks!

X-Pole Tech, they show the pole spinning in the 2/2 video.

Sorry Robyn did not see that.

It's still a copy X-Pole and a bad one at that!

You will never get in trouble with a company or seller if you speak the truth.  As always it comes down to quality and safety.  There are only a handful of pole manufacturers out there that are properly constructed and stand behind their product.  It is always cheaper to buy quality the first time.  If they stay with pole they will end up buying something better, and if they don't stay with pole they will be able to resell the pole for nearly what the purchase price was.

I always tell people the truth based on my personal experience with brands I have owned or tried & based on my knowledge of pole brands on the market. Safety is very important & if you know a pole is unsafe and/or a ripoff, I think it’s definitely ok to tell someone who is looking for a pole that. Point them in the direction of a few brands that are trusted in our industry & encourage them thoroughly research each one to find the pole that’s right for their needs.
