What happened to USPDF anyway?
I just saw a kickstarter campaign to bring it back: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1365239788/us-pole-dance-federation-uspdf?ref=video
I don’t remember hearing anything about why it went away in the first place. Does anyone know?

I know there was a lot of controversy around that organized & comp… a quick search on Veena for past threads on this topic will prob bring a lot of that to light… I honestly forgot any of the details I knew (not many to begin with), but I do recall more abt APFA (that one was an even more fired up controversy / scandal)… bottom line none of those were ever all that well-organized anyway… enter the new and increasingly powerful/compelling/established/highly regarded & respected PSO…

funny I recall hearing Natasha tell another instructor from my studio that apparently she will likely hold that national title for another year for that comp bc there was not gonna be another such event for the next year… not only was she right, but maybe more than she realized at the time… if I recall correctly she is now the last holder of that title ever??? -
I thought Michelle Stanek was the last USPDF title holder in 2012. Been a long time, either way. USPDF has always kind of been shrouded in mystery to me, the competition videos were only available sparsely or in bootleg copies which makes the popularity of them that much more impressive. Wendy Traskos is one of the founders/organizers of USPDF (right?). She’s always been a very nice person to me, but I don’t know much about her or what’s up with this organization.

Yes, MS was the last winner. So it hasn’t happened in ’13 and ’14 for whatever reason(s)? It does seem shrouded in mystery, and I feel like since no one seems to know what is happening, the support for bringing it back won’t be there. Some explanation would be fantastic! I think you’re right–Wendy Traskos is the found/organizer.

I think once they released videos there was a LOT of questions. USPDF had no transparency if I recall. NY is ridiculously expensive to hold a comp. Regulations have gotten stricter for insurance. I don’t understand how all of these other comps can exist without begging for money. I just cannot support this.
