  • What is the difference between X-pert materials? Brass etc

    Hello

I was looking to buy a new X-pole because I got a different one from ebay and it has been tightened too much so I cant unscrew it (will try WD-40).

I was looking on the website and noticed there are heaps of materials the X-pole is made out of:

    Chrome

    Titanium

    and Brass.

What is the difference out of these materials? Is it simply the colour?

    Thanks!

    HI jbsong,

Everyone reacts differently to each finish but here are general explanations of the finishes.

Brass finish has great grip when you and the pole is warm, Its good for those who sweat a lot and its also a good finish if you live in a warm climate. It can be slick in the cold however.

Chrome is what I suggest most new dancers buy, when you warm your body and the pole properly you will have a nice grip but its not too grippy.

Titanium Gold or TG as we call it, has more grip than Chrome, doesn't need as much "warming" to have nice grip. I use the TG pole in all of my video lessons because it has great grip from the start. For new dancers it can be too grippy and painful on the skin.

Ahh! I see! Thanks! My current one is a chrome one and I think it is 40mms. Why are there so many different sizes of poles? Btw! I fixed my ebay pole (non X-pole one). WD40 and a hammer work WONDERS!!! Omg!

I have left my pole (the top black screw bit) to soak in WD40 atm. Hopefully it wont choke up again. This one also goes on an angle a lot when it is on carpet. Dodgy, dodgy but hey, 4 times cheaper and also still does the job 😛

I definetely still will get an X-pole though (x-pert) because the ebay one I got keeps doing weird stuff that causes me to need to keep adjusting it and it is such a drag. Such is the renting life.

Looks like I should stick with chrome!

Hence the reason you should just invest the money in a good pole to begin.
