I tried to find the moves you were looking at. Is the second one called  the poisson? I find that a super hard move to teach because it involves flexing your foot which we're all not very good at! It really helps in this move if you have a strong butterfly first with a solid split grip.

If i'm thinking of the right move there's a video on Youtube which shows someone going into it slowly, the link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO6fU3wH4xc

Is that the move? I'm not sure if veena has a tutorial…

The first image is more commonly known as a shooting star……At least that is what I have seen it called……….

Veena does have a lesson on it.

The second one…..The image is called poison…..but I am not familiar with other names for it….

Thanks guys!! Yep Nicki that video is spot on! It looks a bit scary tilting that way and relying on the foot! Bit like the bow and arrow that I've had a few goes at, it's scary tilting the hooked leg up and relying on the foot again!

Such a beautiful move… maybe Veena will make her own step by step of it 😀

if you read the link, you can actually see the names of the images- which happen to be the names of the moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Just a heads up, it's the le poisson (as in french for fish) rather than poison. In case you were looking for it anywhere. They need to change their spelling!

I learned the first one in pole class recently, its very easy if you have gemini. Its even nicer if you can arch your back and let go of the hand, it them becomes like a marley variation without holding your foot 🙂

Thanks Audball! I can do gemini and have been trying this move, almost getting it! I think it's very pretty

Shellectra, with the shooting star…and you may have already noticed this…if you can push your hips way forward it will improve the hold, and it'll look much better. It is a very pretty move!

Yep I second poler girl, push your hips forward so your pushing your bottom thigh (i.e. the one that isnt hooking in the gemini) against the pole, while squeezing with the gemini leg. When your comfy, arch arch arch and let go if you can. If you do let go, make sure you keep your hips and torso facing upwards to keep you nicely gripped on the pole 🙂
