I just stated as a warmup before poledancing. i do sit ups… crunches… pushups an then squat an squat jumps. an it takes me about 14 mins. then after i pole i do like a 40 mins yoga routine i made on my own =) feels great~! (when im not poling that day i do all the things i mentions plus i go to the park an do some pull ups)

Picking up my 16 pound, 13 week old baby- does that count lol!
I walk around the neighborhood-try to stretch when I can…
Hopefully will start a lil cardio and resiistance machines 1-2x per week-not gonna push it though b/c it is tough getting out since I breastfeed every 60-90min still!

i've had to cut back a lot on pole time (now I'm only able to squeeze in maybe 1 class a week, and then teaching 2-4 hours a week, used to be doing 10-15 hours of movemetn a week before!) because of grad school + job… so i've been trying to do really high efficiency workouts to make up for it. it's a little more expensive then doing things on my own or just going to a gym, but it's workouts that i enjoy, am challenged by, and i love the people i work with– they REALLY push me. I haven't seen any loss in strength so far!
so, in a typical week, I do:
1 hour of high intensity circuit training including anaerobic work (pull ups, rows, heavy ropes, squats, etc)
1 hour of pilates (private session) specifically targeting core and shoulders
1 hour of high intensity weights with a personal trainer (free weights, leg work, and olympic style lifting) -
I do a lot of conditioning work (like the ones listed in the lessons), along with yoga, flexibility training and hooping. I'll hit the gym if I'm planing on working towards some strength based moves like the Iron x and stalls.

kylie, i don't do crossfit, although i know a lot of people are into it. i work with a personal trainer (who trains marlo fisken 🙂 and we work on kettlebells, snatches, jerks, rows, clean and presses, romanian dead lifting, and trap bar deadlifts as well as a bunch of other stuff. so a lot of the same principles and exercises as a crossfit gym, but individual attention and HUGE emphasis on form. both my brothers go to crossfit gyms, but they have had extensive training on proper technique and are really using the space to have access to all the equipment… i've just seen too many videos of crossfit gyms promoting themselvs with people in them who are doing nearly everythign wrong. it's really scary! i dont know enough about all of it to trust myself in a setting where the instructor isn't top notch.

Crossfit scares the heck out of me! And I have had a LOT of olympic lifting technique training in my past. (good lord, its been over 7 years since I have even done a snatch!) I hate going to the gym because I sit there and watch people do it wrong. I also see trainers teaching form incorrectly. All. The. Time. Crossfit definitely seems like something that is only advisable if you know your technique. Really well, too, since once a person gets tired, technique is usually the first thing to go.
I cross train pole with stretching workouts, as well as teaching and training trapeze & tissu. I am going to try to get into some yoga classes now that my boyfriend has started his training on the mainland, and also I bought a groupon for Pilates. I am very excited for that! I have found that I don't stick to workouts on my own, with the exception of running, which I don't even do anymore. Though I really liked my booty the best when I was doing that. 🙂

Corby, I am so glad you responded to this! I just saw a video of you at Brassy Butterfly which is where I am taking classes! You are an amazing dancer!!!

Thanks Kaylie! 🙂 I love brassy. Such a great studio. Many fond memories there, and I usually stop by when I am in town.

Mine seems pretty basic, treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, antigravity yoga, aerial fabric dance, and squeeze in the occasional stretch

I do flexibility training, and core strength training weekly on top of poling. They are two areas I am mostly struggling with
