What the heck
Posted by Catsanctuary177663 on September 11, 2015 at 5:01 pmThe most bizarre thing has happened. I can invert fine on both sides. Good strong tucks, pullups, etc. Today I can not invert at all. I am stunned. Has this ever happened to anyone? I am hoping tomorrow is another day and all is well but this really has me perplexed.

Yup, happens to me sometimes. There’s the odd day where I try to pole but I barely have enough energy to get my feet off the ground and I know I just need to take a rest day. Totally normal 🙂

Yes!!! This happens to me every now and then too! Don’t worry you will be back to normal in a day or two

Yes, I think this happens to everyone! Your muscles are still repairing, so you might find that they’re a little weaker for now… and you’ll be back to it in a day or two! I’ve heard this happen with many different moves, and it’s totally natural 🙂

Yes I hate this! Grrrrr
Like everyone says you’ll get it back. I usually work on my prep moves for the “missing” move in the meantime. -
Good news. Today I’m fine. I guess it’s like everything else, just listen to my body. My inverts were so natural, like just sitting back in a chair-I couldn’t understand what happened. My muscles just said “nope, not today” so I have to trust they know best! I worked on spins this morning then this afternoon was like nothing ever happened-inverts were back. Thanks for the reassurance!

I’m glad it came back!
After I first got my shoulder mount, it came and went for a solid month at least, maybe two. It was SO frustrating, since I got a taste and loved shoulder-mounting but just couldn’t do it most of the time! Fatigue is definitely part of it, they’ll certainly go when your body is tired. Don’t be too hard on yourself if a pole move comes and goes sometimes 🙂

Ugh, the shoulder mount! When I was working in clubs 20 years ago I didn’t know there was any other way to invert so I learned that right off the bat. Now I can’t do it! Soooo frustrating! I feel like I’m taking baby steps and trying to remember what it felt like before but I just can’t so I’m continuing with the conditioning and strengthening. I will get it back, and my straight leg invert will be next!

Most of the times that I’ve had this happen, it was because I was too hungry or too tired and didn’t have enough energy (note: I like to train while I’m *a little* hungry, but when I’m ravenous, the good strength moves just don’t happen. Still working on refining my optimum window between last meal and working out.). Sometimes it’ll be because it’s a weird day for my allergies/asthma so my lungs start saying NOPE before the rest of me does.
Glad you got your invert back!
