Sometimes I want to stretch at my desk at work or while waiting somewhere, but I don't want to stretch "cold". Are there any good methods to get warmed up quickly or inconspicuously when you don't have a pole or room to move and may or may not be in "workout clothes"?

Depends what you want to stretch. For legs, doing calf raises, climbing stairs, or just going for a walk to the other side of the building will help. When I worked in an office tower, I would get off the elevator a few stops early and walk a few flights up to my office for a bit of exercise. Squats/plies can be done anywhere.

For upper body, you can try wall pushups (or desk, if you need more of a challenge.) And don't be afraid to stash a yoga mat or resistance bands under your desk at work… you might get a few weird looks, but honestly who gives a crap what other people think? Tell em it's PT or something.

Those are good ones!!! I do squats and plies in the elevator sometimes, at my desk my boss laughs and says I look like a wack a mole. I already sit on a balance ball and there are hoops at my desk so I'm not TOO concerned about funny looks. Mostly I use my desk like a ballet barre. Always working on hamstrings and flexors, sooo tight in my upper legs.

If you want to stretch a bit at work or say when you are traveling and stop and feel like stretching out. It's ok to not fully warm up. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Just stretch until you feel tension, it wont hurt anything as long as you do go crazy with "getting as far as possible". The warm up is most important before you are doing flexibility training "hard core" stuff, to GAIN flexibility. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

What about warming up your back for intense stretching?
