I bruise like crazy. Basically wherever the pole touches me, I’m covered in bruises. At the moment my worst spots are on my one inner calve, my tail bone, and the inner thighs. (Working on superman, iguana mount, and cupid). I also have a pole burn on my stomach from working on gemini.

I bruise super easily too, and am at the stage of being completely over excited by my new pole and my strength returning so am on a roll of trying to get back all my intermediate moves and learn new ones and try hard advanced-intermediate stuff. Which is a recipe for looking like I’ve done ten rounds with a boxing champ!

I know I should stop but I can’t stop! Rediscovering things I thought I’d never do again plus stuff I couldn’t do before is so exciting! (((My new pole ))))

I will just have to wear maxi dresses for a bit…

I hardly ever bruise anymore. This prolly sounds crazy but I miss them! They’re like.. temporary battle wounds that prove my awesome skills. x) the only place I still get bruises often are on my feet.

If you bruise easily try taking some extra Vitamin C which can help alleviate the problem. Arnica Cream or Super Blue Stuff can help speed healing. And of course, try some of our protective gear for Pole Dance/Fitness, Lyra, Silks, and Trapeze. :-))
    Thank you,

My massage therapist suggested lymphal drainage techniques. Running the fingers in “nerve strokes” over the top of the skin from center of bruise outwards like you are drawing rays if a sun.

*nerve stroke = light touch where fingers barely brush the skin. This trends to tickle. It causes nerve stimulation which allows for pushing off blood cells out of the area.

I had my entire left inner thigh completely covered in bruise one time for three weeks. Using this technique it was gone in three days.

@nachashlsis: WOW that’s crazy! I have to try that! 🙂 is it most effective when the bruise is new, or can it work at any time during the healing process?

Kneipp’s Arnica Bath Oil + epson salt is so amazing….I’ve literally gotten into the tub with bruises and gotten out and they were gone. (only the little bruises disappear but it still helps the big bruises lots 🙂

I found the lymphal drainage technique my massage therapist suggested works at any stage of bruise. As I said the first time I tried it I had bruising for three weeks already. Some of it new and some of it old but just kept getting more in the same area. Very light touch is all that’s required. You can do it any time. 🙂

Haven’t had any bruising in a while but I just did a workshop with Sergia and she had us spinning by the crook of our elbows. Now, my whole right arm is bruised as is the meat right above my right collar bone from shoulder mounting on my non-dom side…something about loving the pain and the road to success…

Being so new to pole I tend to bruise quite easily everywhere but my legs and feet are toughening up quite quickly. Sporting some real shiners at the tops of my arms right now though. I love arnica cream – definitely works for me.

A friend said to put witch hazel or white vinegar over the bruise. Seemed to help but I was also using arnica. I’m really pale so my legs show the bruises really well. Last week I looked like a victim of domestic abuse and friends kept questioning me. :p
