If you're based in the UK I've heard good tings about 'elite pro pole' but nothing beats a good xpole or ps. x

Where are you located?? There are a number of things to consider. I recommend lilmynx. They are well priced, and you can get a stainless steel or powder coated. Stainless steel can be very slippery initially, but once the pole is conditioned, warm, and you get you hands strong , caulloused and used to poling, you should be ok. I am a heavy sweater and learned on a stainless steel. If you want to stick more, you could get the powder coated pole, but you might stick too much if you try spinning in a humid climate.

From my experience it's difficult to know what will work for each person, as weather, sweaty hands, etc. are different.  I also learned on a stainless steel lil mynx and it worked okay for two years.  I did struggle with it being slippery but was able to progress.  Once I began interm tricks, etc I had to change poles.  I got an xpole xpert 50mm titanium gold.  It has great grip; however, I struggled with spins because it is so grippy and my body got "tore up" since I still have tendency to have death grip, etc.  Right now I am practicing on an xpole 45mm chrome and "love it!"  It is not mine; however, and once it goes to its new home, I'll order my 45mm, still not sure if I'll get chrome or titan gold.

I also go to a studio that has stainless steel platinum stage poles, both 45mm & 50mm.  I also like those poles and don't have problem with being slippery, probably because they are "broken in."

As you can see, there are many options.  Drives me nuts since I'm a horrible decision-maker 🙂

BTW, the main reason I replaced my Lil Mynx is the extension rod for higher ceiling is on the top and not usable at all for anything.  When I started aerial invert, caterpillar climb, etc., was frustrated because I couldn't do anything all the way to the top.   Lil Mynx powder coated has more grip, but again, if extension rod is needed, it is not usable.

Good luck and let us know what you get 🙂

I got one of those hustler poles just to try out for now. The price is right plus If i don't like it, I can always return it and pay the difference for the mipole. the xpole was way out of my price range. I live in kansas for now and I am in an apartment, so I bought a portable one. I hope this works out for me. I appericate everyones help! Thank you.

Do not dance on that thing! Take it back. You will get hurt. Those kind of poles are cheap novelty poles for bedroom games. When it comes to pole fitness, you need to pay the extra money and get a sturdy professional grade pole. It really is a matter of safety. I know it hurts the wallet, but you have to fork out the money. They is why I recommend lilmynx. They have the ss sport stationary that is reasonably priced. It is a great starter pole!

I don't know about the mipole, but can definitely recommend the lilmynx.  you're going to be putting in a good several hundred dollars, and it will be worth it to get a good, sturdy pole.

What diameter should I get from lil mynx? 1.75" or 2"

that is tough to say. there are benefits to both, though i've only tried a 50 mm so far. i know there are some threads on here, try searching 45 and 50 mm poles.

I've never dacned on a 45mm, so I cannot say anything personally about it, but I wsh I could dance on one. I can tell you the general pros an cons of both. The pro of a 50mm are good leg grip, but if you small hands, it will be harder to grip with your hands. If you go for a 45mm, spins will probably come easier because gripping with your hands will be easier, but gripping with your legs may be a challenge. There are some girls that don't see any difference I leg grip with the diameters. I learned on a 50mm, and I bought a 50mm, but now I am wishing I had gone with th 45mm.

2 in = 50 mm. 1.75 in = 45 mm. Some poles even come in 1.5 in which is 38 mm.

You have to be the judge. I wish I had gone with a 1.75, bc I have small girl hands that tend to sweat, but I tend to spin a lot. This will be your starter pole. I can guarantee that once you are hooked, you will end up investing in more than one pole. Go look back at the other pole threads. There are other pole brands and finishes. I recommend LM and they are the most affordable, but you may want a different pole. Keep in mind, with a LM, you will have to drill a hole in the ceiling (just one though.) you do not have to with an x pole, but they are more expensive, they are harder to put up, have a lot of user error, etc.
