  • Where can I get a big mirror?

Posted by eviltwinn1 on April 6, 2011 at 11:20 am

Hubby and I just bought our first house, and I finally get a pole room! Yay!

Does anyone know where I can get a big dance-studio mirror?  Preferably one that won't cost an arm and a leg, since house-buying has made us poor again.  ðŸ˜›

    Thanks!

Oh I'm such a silly!  I just looked through some more posts on the forum and found a bunch of things about mirrors.  Feel free to make suggestions anyway if you want to  ðŸ˜›

I got mine from a business that was remodeling. You could try craigslist too!

For my spare office at the studio we bought a large bifold closet door. It's a cheap one…about $100 for 6'x8' at Menards.

Cheap means light weight too! You can build a frame to hang it or what we did was put to eyelets into the wall and hooked it to those with straps Next time I'm there I'll take a picture of it if anyone is interested.

OH and the great thing is…I can open the bifold mirrors or take them down whenver I want to. Mine are actually in front of my window in the office so I just fold them back when I want the window open.

Anyone know of any stores in NJ or NYC that have big mirrors?

    And do you transport it?

I posted this elsewhere.. and can't find.  The BEST place I found was the RE-STOREs of Habitat For Humanity.  Most US towns of any size (40K Population) seem to have them.  I found several for about $40 to $50 around 5 x5 give or take.

Also could look for other salvage construction for the Sliding closet Door mirrors.

Keep checking craigslist. I found both my large mirrors on there (one is 7 x 10 and the other is about 6 x 8) and I only paid $25 each.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Ikea! I bought mine over a year ago for $99, so I don’t know if they still have that model. But there is one on the site now called the Hemnes and it’s approx 65″ X 30″ and $99. It’s a big full length mirror.

Inspired by this post, I bought a big wall mirror from Craigslist for $30! Really high quality, thick, frameless and no distortion whatsoever.
