    Hi!

I'm new on this website so here'e a short introduction of my person first:

My name ist Tanja (you pretty much call it like "Tonya"), I'm 31 years old, located near Cologne in Germany and just starting to pole dance (other Hobbies: endurance riding, photography). If there are any mistakes in my English, please don't be too severe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Me and my friend Samira just got an Xpole Xpert and it's in my living room since last week now and even my boyfriend can't keep his hands off of it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

Samira and me are starting to have classes in January, but I would like to purchase some DVDs for support.

I know Veena has a lot of instructional videos here on her site, but unfortunately my computer is in another room, but the TV isn't, so I think, since one can't download Veena's videos, this won't really work for me. I'm really having hard times to adapt things I see on a screen, and when I have to switch rooms between watching and practising, I'm going to forget everything in the meantime https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I'm looking for something that really starts from the beginning (although I'm already able to do a few spins) and leads me to climbs and inversions and all that cool stuff https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif
What's really important to me is, that the instruction has a good explanation and a lot of slow motion, since my biggest problem is the coordination of my body and limbs. Also, I have a great lack in flexibility; I'm about 15 inches away from doing splits! I'm stretching every day and it's getting better, but there's still a long way to go…

Since for me poledancing is more something sensual and sexy rather than artistic (please don't misunderstand, I have greatest respect for these girls), I'm looking for an instruction that doesn't leave out sexy floorwork.

So, which DVDs would you recommend?

Right now, from all I've read, I would go for the Felix Cane DVDs and maybe Alethea Austin… What do you think?
Or better Jamilla Deville or Leigh Ann or Live Once or what else is on the market?

Our lessons work on many devices.  They play on most smart phones, most tablets, the PS3, XBox if you've updated to have Internet Explorer.  People have even played them through web-enabled blue ray players and televisions.

    Thanx for your answer!

I see, there are a lot of options – but they all require internet, right? And this I don't have in my living room (ok, I own a smartphone, but I find the display being too small to watch videos comfortably) and I won't buy a new TV or XBox or whatever (just spent a lot of money for a pole) when there are dvds out there that run on the devices I already have! I understand that you want to sell your memberships and I believe that your lessens are very good; I just think they are not the most comfortable way for me at this moment (if you are releasing a dvd, let me know)!

    So, any (other) suggestions…?

Hi and good luck on your new awesome hobby.  I am also fairly new to pole, I started out at my local studio which I absolutely love but since money is a little tight Ive just signed on to this site.  Ive also tried dvd's, specifically Leigh ann's instructional dvd, but feel like she wasnt able to break things down and explain the rationale on how and why you do things.  I also felt the dvd focused on the very sexy aspects when in the beginning you should focus on building strength and just getting used to your pole. But to answer your question, i think any beginner dvd will give you at least most of what you need to know to get a good start on pole.  Good luck and have fun!!!!
