Who is you Pole Model
Posted by ARoulette on October 21, 2012 at 9:43 amWho is your Pole Model. That one person you saw on the pole that made you want to conquer every move through blood (not really blood lol), sweat, and tears? My pole Model is Oona Kivela. I dream about attending one of her workshops.

I gotta say Felix Cane cuz she was the first professional pole dancer who's video I saw. It got my hooked instantly and she's always doing amazing things.

Zoraya Judd. She's amazingly strong and just seems like the most awesome woman. She's very dedicated not only to pole and the fans, but to her family as well. 🙂

Alethea Austin is the "beloved" that set the first stone down on my pole journey. She was the 1st video i fell in love with and even though we have different styles I still adore her every move.
{I even have a shoe signed by her}The person that keeps me going though…. is my teacher, Lucy.
I admire her something fierce. She's seen my worse, my best and everything inbetween. She's knows how much passion i have for it and we both learn so much from each other. Without her none of this would be possible and i owe her so much for it. -
I can't say that I have one "model" per se. There are so many in the pole world that I highly admire but all for different traits.
There was a thread a while back asking this and I would have to say that my post there still rings true: While I admire a lot of the performers I would not consider any of them "idols" per se. The ones I see as idols are the ones who are advancing this community and sport in ways we cannot even imagine….Veena, Charley, Wendy, Mary Ellyn, Alena, Bobbi, Tinu and I am sure there are others (not sure who is behind the LA Pole show).

I have numerous pole favorites, Felix Cane is probably my favorite to watch. My pole model is a actually a woman I saw on YT at the end of last year. She's a bigger girl and sfter seein the progress she was making I finally decided to give it a go myself. She has stopped making videos. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif http://youtu.be/nBirdTwg7Vg

The first pole video I saw was Jenyne's performance in one of her workshops. I saw it posted somewhere, watched it, thought: "not bad." Then, I saw it posted again after some time, watched it again. Thought: "this is really something different, and awesome, better look into it more." And there I was, watching Jenyne's videos on YouTube, one after another, falling in love with both her and pole dancing.

Tarina Karina was first YT pole vid i ran across when i was researching getting into pole dancing for fitness. I would watch her vids for hours on end. I was just amazed that she was self taught & soooo good.
Then I discovered the pros & i was really blown away & hooked–J. Butterfly, Felix & Alethea etc.
I also LOVE Nadia Sharif (past instuctor), Aerial Amy, Badazz, Skittles, David C Owen & Remi Martin.
For the last cpl years though, Dirdy Birdy has really kept my attention…her dance style is really how I hope to dance one day…it is just so beautiful, fluid & graceful.

Tarakarinas vid… I remember showing it my BF and going ill never be able to do that!! Now I can…:-)
Now I follow Dirdy birdy.
I’m not really into watching the mega professionals at the moment because they are so far from my reality it’s just annoying rather than inspiring! -
Tiaradw, I also follow Jenyne on Facebook religiously, lol.
