StudioVeena.com Forums Discussions Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?

I agree with Payton that the site is somewhat biased towards xpole. When i posted a video of me using the new EZ connect Star Stand Alone it was pulled immediately from the website. I posted a thread on it, and it was pushed to the bottom within 5 minutes. I dont really think thats fair considering i paid to be a member of this site.

I saw the other thread about the 40mm xpole, and Erica from Platinum Stages has been nothing but respectful and actually sweet on this forum. Im not sure why people were being rude with her, and why she wasnt able to defend herself. Certain things need defending. People on this forum were constantly bad mouthing the SSA….yes in the past it may have been crap, but i know the new one isnt. People also said how it falls over. I put it to the test and ran at it full speed, and the pieces popped up a lil, but the thing is sturdy. It most certainly didnt fall over. U can watch the video on my profile. I felt the need to do the video because a couple of my friends on here were scared to use it after all that they read on the forum.

At the end of the day, there will always be a difference of opinion. If you like Platinum Stages, great. If you like Xpole, great. If you like Lil Mynx, great.

@LizzyLis810 – Your video was removed as are all product reviews.

Your thread was not repositioned by anything but the rapid movement of the forum.  The most recently posted thread is always on top.  Just look at how many posts have occurred here in the 1 hour and 52 minutes this thread has been open.

Regardless of the content of Platinum Stages response on the thread, it was posted in direct disregard to my request.  I have met Erica, she is a super sweet girl, I like her. That being said, I will not tolerate disregard for my attempts to moderate a forum back on topic.  She would have been more than welcome to create another thread regarding their poles to explain their position.  If my children disregard a request they get a timeout.

It wasnt a product review. I showed what the "EZ CONNECT" actually was and how it gets assembled. I also demonstrated how to make it go into spin mode. People always want to see what the newest poles are, what they look like, how they work, etc.

Payton, my gut feeling here is that you are having some issues with a new pole and are feeling really frustrated about it. I noticed that you said on your home page that you actually GOT an X-pole recently. I was a little taken aback by the language you used. "Kickback" is a very harsh term and probably shouldn't be used in the absence of some evidence. I've known Julie and Christopher (and yes, I am going to use real names here for a reason) since 6 months after this site opened. I have met them in person on countless occaisons, eaten with them, planned and organized events with them. I have mutual friends in common with them who've stayed at their house, babysat their children, and trained with them. I have never known either of them to conduct themselves in any other manner but with integrity and honesty.

People that sell xpoles, or platinum stages, or whatever on their sites earn a commission. Isnt that what she meant by kick back?? I really dont think it was meant to be offensive.

    Kickback:

a percentage of income given to a person in a position of power or influence as payment for having made the income possible: usually considered improper or unethical.

@LizzyLiz810 – We allowed you to post a link to your review in the forum.

As to whether it was a review or not, that is our judgement call.  Since then we have been much more liberal in our evaluation but if this is going to come back to haunt us in this way it will be much better for us to pull all similiar videos including your demonstration of the SSA's "stability".

As to the term kick back I believe that Empy has quite properly defined the difference between kickback and commission.

A kick back is the commission on sales of a product. The more sales you make the more you earn. That was not disrespectful, that is a term we use in business everyday.

I came on strong, yes… because I wanted to start a very important dialog that needs to happen on this site. There are many people reading this post that agree that are too afraid to come forward and speak their mind.

Studio Veena workshops and events "sponsored" by X-Pole because they push products is considered a kick back. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

Like who?! @PaytonPlays. It doesnt matter if she gets a kickback or not! What business is it of anyone’s. Don’t you have a job? If you buy something from QVC and you don’t like it do you blame QVC for selling or promoting it? Yes it’s on tv 24 hrs a day, is that pushing it on you? Maybe, but truth of the matter is..nobody put a gun to your head for you to buy or ask for an xpole. Either return it or place the blame where it should be. (go stand in front of a mirror and point!)

@PaytonPlays – You might be surprised to learn that the only sponsor we have ever had for an event was New York Pole Dance who allowed us to use their studio for a Pole Jam during USPDF.  Other than that everything we have done has been self funded.

X-Pole has never, ever, ever sponsored us in anything nor has anyone else.  We have worked very hard to establish Studio Veena as a company that stands on its own reputation and strength before lending or borrowing strength through partnerships with others.

We are almost four years old and just recently started reaching out looking for partners who share our positive goals and ideals.

I have an x-pole, and I'm *mostly* happy with it.  I do have issues with the x-joint turning, even with correct installation.  One day when money permits, I may look into another company, or I may not.  With that said…so what?  SO WHAT if Veena has a preference to x-pole?  I have seen a number of threads on different poles,  all welcoming the "open discourse, free speech" which we all value here.   I wouldn't call  it a bias, I'd call it a preference…and again, so what?
