Has anyone else not been able to access wikipole.org?? I tried to link to my students and haven’t been able to get on there in a week. Just wondering if anyone knows what’s going on with that? Is it shut down?

It's displayed that error for well over a year at this point.

The site was hacked quite some time ago and has never come back.

Might I suggest our gallery? https://www.studioveena.com/galleries

It not only displays a still of each move but links through to a video lesson if you need or want it.

The video lessons are only avaliable through purchase though. :-/  That's the only down side for people like me who are real tight on money right now.

@DixiePixie – But the gallery is free.

These are hardly lessons (not a replacement for Veena!) but a great resource if you just need to see how the move looks.  http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/

Really? A year? Hmmm.. Well I have plenty of videos, dvds, and I have other resources, but that is a shame to hear about wikipole.

It hasn't been a year. It was July when the site was hacked.

I was an admin on there. The site was completely free, with no income source, and run by volunteers, so we never had the funds or help to install stronger software. In the end the moderators could not keep up with deleting the spam at the rate it was coming in.

A lot of the data was corrupted, and the amount of spam in the end far out-weighed the amount of actual useful information.

And although I have offered the site owner and the web developer my own money and time to get the site running again, neither of them seem to want to do this at the moment.

Hey Robyn, does the owner still have all the content? Seems like a shame to have so much knowledge and not be able to share it somehow…

Try poledancedictionary.com. They have a lot of stuff. And they have the alternate names. 🙂

JBS – the content MIGHT still be in there, but it's lost within the database of THOUSANDS of spam pages, and some of the "good" pages have been overwritten, so we'd have to go back through each page's history to find the data.
Like I said, at the moment, the web developer is not willing to put the effort in.

Might be worthwhile to start again, but make it so others can't edit. They can send pics in for submitting, but not edit the pages.
