Does anyone have Apple AirPods? Do they work for inverts/tricks? Alternatively, any other bluetooth headphones that anyone’s had success with? I prefer ones without the wrap-around wire or things that wrap around your ears, which is what draws me to the AirPods.

How these work for you is going to depend entirely on how they fit in your ears. Apple doesn’t provide multiple ear molds like a lot of manufacturers do.

You might want to look into making (or buying if you can afford it) custom fitted ear plugs. If you buy a DIY kit, you can mold it around thw earplugs you own so the fit will be perfect.
This is used by musicians in order to be able to wear their in-ear monitors on stage without them falling off. I am a rock and heavy metal singer and I move A LOT on stage (though no inverts while singing of course 😂😂😂) but you might want to try that out and see how you like it!!! Here’s a link of more info:

I just got a Kelodo earbud from Amazon — it was under $10. Comes with a few different ear molds, and seems to fit very securely. Just tried it on last night — haven’t tried working with it yet. But it feels very secure for pole work. I bought it to work on a sling routine, and I’m concerned about drops — I can’t keep a ponytail holder in my head for long when I’m working on drops. But my husband is pretty sure I won’t have a problem with this…

@Webby – how they fit my ears is a concern I was aware of, in particular because I have small ears (my earbuds use the smallest rubber tip).

@Estef – I’ll definitely look into this and see if it may be feasible/necessary once I’ve picked out a pair of wireless headphones

@Lisakm – I had a look at those prior to posting and thought they might do the trick, but was concerned about it only being one earphone. However, the company says they’re coming out with a pair sometime “soon” (they said this in January and again in June…), so could you post again and let me know if it worked well (or not so well) once you’ve had a chance to test it out?

@ammarice – Just came from open studio where I used the Kelodo earbud while practicing sling. One earbud worked fine for me — I could hear my song over the studio’s music without any problem. And it stayed securely in my ear through plenty of high-impact drops. I’m very happy with this — it’s doing exactly what I had hoped it would!

Good luck with whatever you try!
