Glad you got your pole finally!
I did have the same problem, I just had to try to turn them as much as possible.. (I think you’re actually tightening the joint to make the bit smaller.. so it slides out of the tube). Try not to round the little holes while you’re doing it, by making sure the hex key is all the way in before you start trying to turn. And make sure you’re following the arrows on the Xjoint (I know these arrows are covered when the joint is in the tube, but it will probably have them on the other end of the joint, or else in the manual).
And you’ll also need some good ol’ elbowjuice as those things can be a b*tch to get out!
Good luck!

its like they aern’t loving at all. they won’t budge. i rang x pole and they said just try turning the screw both ways and i said that the screws have gunk on them and they said thats to help so the screws dont get stuck. they’re well too tight https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif .. i am also turning them in the right direction.

Hey,
They put a product called Lock-tite on the threads of the screws for shipping to stop them coming out and getting lost
It’s a pain but just put the allan key in as far as it will and really lean on it the screws only move about a half turn in total so once lose it should slide out easy. Good luck https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -
I had this problem as well, ended up having to take them to my local locksmiths as they would not budge. They even commented how tight they were, the guy physically took the x-joints apart and gave the screws some elbow grease (Vaseline) as the screws were bone dry thus making difficult it to release them with the hex key. I haven’t had any problems with it since.
Though it was rather funny telling him what they were and what I used them for! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I got them undone last week! Yaaaay! I placed the smaller end of the hex key in the hole and turned and it worked! I think using the long end is too difficult.
