I ordered the A-Frame aerial rig and it came yesterday. I was trying to put it together and one of the telescoping legs holes doesn’t match up so I could push the pin through. I did everything I could possibly try to figure it out as to why the holes are blocked. I even pulled the leg all the way out and it looks like the holes are just improperly aligned. I called X-Pole and they want me to send them pictures in an email so they can have technical support look at it but I was wondering if anyone else had ordered a rigging and what their experiences were with the set up? Overall, the rigging seems to be pretty nice and easy to setup. It just sucks that I seem to have gotten a defective piece that’s preventing me from enjoying my rigging.

I have the a-frame and had a similar problem but when I completely turned the leg around to use the other side, it worked so make sure you try that.

I actually had a similar problem, the pins would not go through any of the legs no matter what I tried. I talked to Rossi and Hiedy, they took a look at it together and got me a new A Frame very quickly. The new one is super easy to set up, with no issues. If you can, talk to Rossi and Hiedy, they are both super helpful!

HAAAAAA i had the biggest battle with my a-frame legs at first, the instruction manual is not detailed at all is it??!! You know how the legs are made up of 3 parts? first time i put it up i thought the middle piece had to stay up inside the top part of the leg as there were no holes in it, let me tell you it was a NIGHTMARE trying to line up the holes in all three separate leg pieces arrraaagh!!!! so then i spoke to x pole and they advised that middle piece has just 1 hole at the top and one hole at the bottom, so you need to fix that piece to the top part of the leg and the bottom part (not the very lowest hole, put it just 1 up to start with or it wont fit) and the whole middle piece should be exposed. i believe this is its lowest height. then you can extend at the top of the middle piece and at the bottom if you want it higher. does this make sense???
also, there is a faint guideline on the leg poles, so make sure these are on the inside when first attaching the legs to the top bar and then it is much easier to line the leg pieces up.

the first pic in my bedroom is when i put it up wrong, you can see the bottom part of the leg with all the holes, and the middle piece is fully inside the top piece.
2nd pic out the back is it up correctly, at its lowest height.

I dont know if this will heLp at all but feel free to ask me any more questions, i have been wrestling with my a-frame since i got it haha so im happy to share any tips ive picked up =)

OMG. Okay so 2 1/2 hours later, I figured it out. It is a VERY finicky process but now that I know what to do, it’s a piece of cake. So I used the hex key to hold the first two holes while I lined up the marker lines to catch the third hole. I laid mine down and set it to 3 holes exposed, pinned at hole #4. Then I walked it up and went one by one to raise it up to 7 holes exposed, #8 pinned. I am going to have my husband help me raise it higher this evening because now that I’m exceeding the holes on the lower part of the telescoping leg, I couldn’t find the holes on the third inner piece. I have really high ceilings in my house so I may be able to extend it fully. Also, I didn’t realize there was a loop on the strap and thought I was supposed to feed the strap through the U-clamp on one of the pins…LOL. Nope. A little more detailed instructions would have been nice. My rig didn’t come with instructions so I had to look them up online.

So now after reading your reply I polekat I, I realize I have set mine up wrong like you did the first time in your first picture. The holes are exposed on my bottom piece. That makes a lot of sense considering I tried to raise it up and couldn’t find any more holes to pin. I also had to hammer a pin through when attaching at the top to the chrome triangle top bar. My holes weren’t lined up for the pin to feed through. It’s a pretty snug fit. I think as more people use it and troubleshoot the problems, Xpole will gather all the information and be able to provide customers a more thorough guide. I think we’re the industry guinea pigs in finding out how this product needs to be communicated better for setup. Overall, I really like my rig and feel like it’s pretty durable at this point. Can’t wait to get home and get back to properly setting it up when I get home tonight from work.

Am I missing a setup video? Does Xpole have one that someone can send me the link to? That would be really helpful.

Maybe I will make a set up video soon. My in-laws are in town until Sunday.
