OK, Let' sgo through it from the start.
Please assemble your X-Pole on the floor. First check the adjuster is fully closed then assemble the A + B + 500mm inserting X-Joints between each pole tube. Tighten but do not fully tighten the X-Joints. Just enough so the enage and do not slip. Final tightening will be done later.
Next, not raising the hole pole i.e. with it one end still on the floor, lift the adjuster end and fit the base. Tighten it so it is locked in the static position – i.e. with the screws aligned with the X’s on the base.
Next install the top insert into the 500mm tube end. Now, standing just below the top end of the pole lift the top end off the floor (base on the floor) and when the end is just above waist height – put on the upper dome!
Now, with the upper done attached, base on the floor, keep lifting the pole upwards and continue lifting/walking the pole till it is upright. Take it slowly when it gets to the ceiling.
Providing the ceiling measurement is 9’ or above the pole should slide into position. If it doesn’t then push the pole towards vertical, till the edge of the upper dome touches the ceiling and providing you have a smooth floor or flat carpet, lift the bottom of the pole, pushing the edge of the upper dome against the ceiling and whilst doing that slide the base under the upper dome till the pole is upright. This takes a bit of work but it should get the pole upright.
Once the pole is vertical expand the adjuster till the pole is firm – but not tight. Now release the X-Joints, i.e. untighten the hex screws and re-tighten them. IMPORTANT – Remember -tighten the joint screws progressively – one hex screw until ‘light’ pressure is felt, do not fully tighten. Then tighten the other screw till pressure is felt. Now tighten the first hex screw fully tight, then the other. This way the Joint opens fully and equally.
Finally, check the pole is vertical, if it’s not loosen the adjuster a little and using a bubble level make sure it is vertical. Now, making sure the dome is flat on the ceiling expand the adjuster till it is tight and lock the three adjuster screws. If you are concerned about aligning the adjuster locking screws with the flat sections on the adjuster screw, then on the top edge of the adjuster body there is now a drilled Dot. Align this Dot with one adjuster screw and all the screws will be in alignment.
Check your pole is firm/stable, if not re-tighten and start poling.
We hope the above solves your installation problems

Hi X-Pole Tech,
I never knew to tighten the X-Joints completely once the pole is in the upright position.
I thought the tightening process was done on the floor while the poles are laying flat?
That’s what I have been doing. Can you give an explanation why it’s better to do it upright rather than while the poles are flat on the ground?
Thank you!

Can be done either way but when the pole is up the weight of the pole tubes makes sure the edges tubes are 100% together.
On the floor, as you go to tighten there is no pressure holding them together and they can separate.
We always assemble loosely first then tighten them fully in situ. Joints should always be checked installed before use and also regularly.
To many poles are left up and not checked or maintained. Please check and look after your poles.

Hello polers! I have an emergency question! Has anyone used an Xpole Xpert exceeding the maximum height without the ceiling fix? I need to use mine on a ceiling that measures 11 feet and 10 inches and, unfortunately I don't have the option of placing screws on the ceiling.. Is that too dangerous? It will be used by one person at a time on spinning mode.. Should I go for it? The other problem is that I don't have enough time to order longer extensions, so I will be borrowing two extensions of 500mm and two of 200mm, I don't have longer ones available… Do you think I will end up flying out the window??

I expect it will be super unstable. I ended up taking down my 9 foot (A+B+250mm+200mm) 45mm X-Pert because it felt unsafe. I replaced it with a 9 foot (A+B+500mm) 50mm original X-Pole which feels much more stable, I think in part because it's thicker and in part because I'm using fewer extensions.

Thank you for the quick response! So, you have never heard of anyone exceeding the max height without a ceiling fix? X pole clearly does not recommend this. I guess I will have to check how stable it feels once I've set it up with some spins and if it feels OK, I will go for inverts etc..! I will let you know how my experiment ended up!! lol!

I've used a 50mm x-pert at that height. it was NOT safe. If you tighten it enough for it to wedge in, it will end up bowed, and more likely to come down.
I'd say you'd be ok, if you were only doing gentle static holds, but any spins or moves that jolt the pole would be very dangerous.

Thanks so much for rour reply! If it's that unstable, I guess I shouldn't risk it then… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
