  • X-Pole rotated joints – technical questions

I have a 50mm chrome X-Pert pole, and when I took it down for maintainance, I found that the x-joints had rotated inside my pole. I know it has been an issue for other Veeners (https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/Xpole_rotated_joints_20110712091636), so I was hoping you could answer some of my questions:

The rotation started to wear down the rounded slot inside the tube that should hold the joint in place. Is there a safety issue with that?

Because my slots are worn down, I am a bit worried that my joints are now more prone to rotate even if I install the pole correctly, and that I will have to go through the broom handle routine every time I want to take it down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M3jmHUosR0).

Does any one else have a pole with worn-down slots? How does it affect your pole experience?

Do you know if X-Pole customer support will replace the tubes in this case? Contacting them is a big deal where I live, and I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble.

Do you know if they solved the rotating joints problem somehow? If so, how?

    Thank you!

I had wearing of the notches. It caused perpetual rotating of the pole tube. X pole did replace the peice. Worst case scenario is you have to purchase a new joint and pole piece.

The rotating joints was more due to a design flaw in the joint than it was the tube itself.  They have redesigned the joint but if you ahve issues with the tube itself I would probably opt to replace it.  If you are outside of your warranty period I am not sure that they will replace anything for free.

As advised by the Veeners it is advisable to replace tubes with worn slots and also X-Joints if they are the older type.

The newer type has 2x small Hex bolts in the centre of the jointfor the locating pins.

Please contact your local X-Pole office or email us here and we will forward or handle for you.

Please always ensure when requesting assistance that you supply the fullest information. Your contact details including daytime/evening contact numbers, When pole was purchased, who from, type, size and surface finish of pole, pole height, serial number where applicable (white label on upper dome/plate).

The more info we have the quicker we can resolve issues.

    Thanks

@X Pole Tech – Is there a picture somewhere of the old x-joints vs. the new ones?

I have pictures in my album.  Now these are the new longer joints, too.  I am not sure if all the new ones are 10" like the ones I got for the studio, but you can see the difference between the old style and the new hex screw.
