X Pole
Posted by sxcmamaof5 on January 12, 2009 at 8:28 amHi! I’m totally new to pole dancing and the ‘lingo’ (so please bare with me) and I have a question about the X Pole.
When it says ‘spinning,’ does that mean it spins, so that you don’t have to make your hand go around the pole? Does my question make sense? lol
I have a ”my little sexy pole” (I’m a ‘Pure Romance’ Consultant and bought it at my discount) and its great for me being brand new, but I’m horrible at dancing in the first place, so anything to make it easier to do any of these moves would be great.Eventually I might end up purchasing the X Pole tho, if it spins without me having to do all the work…at least that part of the work, anyway!

yeah when it’s in spinning mode you don’t need as much momentum in order to spin, because the pole rotates freely. however, i find it to be much harder to dance with than when it’s on static mode- i get really naseaus and dizzy for one thing, it’s harder for me to control what i do cause i feel like it’s slipping away from me (harder to grip maybe?) , and i cant do certain spins- like reverse grab- cause i feel like i’m going to fly off! so actually for me it feels like more work rather than less https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif i think your best bet is to just keep practicing what you want to get good at, like dancing, regardless of what pole you use- and the more you practice the better you’ll get at it! you’d be amazed at how much you can improve on something if you just stick to it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Yeah, spinny sounds like it’d be a lot easier, but it needs a great deal of strength, especially as the closer your body is to the pole the faster you spin, the faster you spin the more you want to pull yourself into the pole for dear life, so the faster you spin again. I’ve done that before https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I’d say stick to static for now, spinnys great fun but can be a little vom-inducing hehe

ya i agree… i have been messing around with spinning mode just trying to learn transitions with just basic spins but wow trying to actually climb it and do inverts and stuff scares me right now. haha and yea i agree the faster you spin the harder u want to hold on and i cant do the reverse grab either on spinny mode. I stick with static for the most part and im pretty happy with it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_porc.gif

Doing a normal reverse grab is damn near impossible on a spinny pole. Here’s a trick off the great Deb Riley, just walk round the pole instead of the initial swing around the pole, get your hands in position and then push your feet off the ground.
Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, I’m a bit naff at explaining without visual aids

thanx lilmislola- that actually does make sense- that way you won’t fly off since you’re not picking up momentum like you do in the normal way- gonna try it, although i’ll still get neaseus (how the h. do you spell that?? nauseaus neausaus naseaus- nope red line still there lol) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
