Does anyone have a textured ceiling? I want to get a pole to put up in my living room so that I’ll have enough room to move around but I don’t want a ring in the ceiling where the X Pole was. It is a stippled ceiling. Just curious. Also, if you have your pole in a smaller room what would you say is the minimum amount of space needed?

    hugs,
    Pam

I can comment on minimum space…..put on your tallest shoes and then stand next to the wall with your arm stretched above your head. The height to the top of your hand is the space you need around your pole, especially if you are planning on doing any flying moves.

The more room you have the better….and yes X poles will work just fine with the pop corn ceilings. I have used mine on that type before with no trouble. Some little bits might flake off when you remove it (not enough for you to notice tho) so just be careful not to get any in your eye https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cyclops_ani.gif LOL

What we’ve done in our living room is put a piece of plywood between the dome and the ceiling, which not only protects the pattern on the ceiling but spreads the pressure across two joists.

I already have the platinum stages extreme pole in SS and I just purchased the Xsport Xpole in TG. I found that the xsport top and bottom plates do not have enough rubber grip compared to the PS plates and I have popcorn ceilings. (Note: both the PS and Xsport did not leave a ring in my ceiling but the PS rubber dots i find are much more superior to the Xsport rubber ring) Having 9 ft. ceilings, which is the max for the Xsport without extra extension, I found that the pole would not stay. So I cut some grippy textured shelf liner which can be found at any Walmart or Home Depot stores for $2 to $3 a roll and sandwiched it between the plates and the ceiling/hardwood floors. It worked like a charm. I just had to trim the edges to give it a cleaner look.
