Hey all! I have finally been able to clear out a room in my home to convert into a pole studio, yay! This will be the first time I’ll be installing my Xpert in this house, though, on a hardwood floor. I’ve only ever installed my pole on carpeted floors before, so I’m a little worried about installing it on hardwood.

I’ve read a few threads that say a non-slip pad under the base helps minimize damage to the floor, and others that say there’s no damage even without a pad. The pad idea sounds good, but would it make the pole less secure? How do I choose a good pad to go under the base? I also saw a few posts that said there should be rubber on the base piece of the pole, but I don’t seem to remember my base having any rubber on it… although that could just be a memory problem…

Can anyone offer some advice? Or a tried-and-true non-slip pad to look into? I want to make sure there’s no floor damage, and of course I want the pole to be as secure as possible so I can be sure I’m dancing safely.

    Thank you all!

With the Xpert there is no need to add anything to the base, it already has a nice silicon grip on the base. I’ve put my x poles on all types of flooring including hardwood without issue. I think you may have been reading about the Lil Mynx pole that has an option of a skid pad for hard floors. I’m pretty sure xpole would not recommend adding a skid pad to their pole.

    Hi Polarys,

There is no problem installing your pole on hardwood! Should actually be easier than carpet. There is a silicone ring around the base for protection and grip- no pad needed.
    Thanks!
