  • Xpole question: Using my chrome base/dome with a different finish pole?

So, I have a chrome 45mm xpert at the moment and am wanting to switch to (probably) a TG 45mm. I was originally going to sell my chrome pole but I’m not considering just buying the A and B poles in the new finish and also keeping the chrome poles in case I want to practice on a chrome pole or I move to a climate where the TG becomes TOO grippy.

Has anyone does this? Is it safe? I can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t be alright, but feedback/opinions would still be appreciated.

I have seen this done and I think there are one or two on here that have done this also. Should not be an issue.

I’ll be very surprised if there are any issues with doing this, but I thought it was worth an ask. Thanks 🙂

I’ve also heard/read of others doing this. I think it’s a great idea. I have a 45mm Titan Gold Xpert and love it. I actually started with a 50mm lil mynx stainless steel (it’s all I knew about at first), then got a 50mm titan gold (45’s were not common yet), then for some dumb reason bought a 45mm chrome. Ended up selling it and have my 45mm titan gold xpert.

I have a two-toned pole. The dome, piece coming out of dome, bottom, and sleeve that covers the xjoint are chrome; the A, B and extension piece are titanium gold. I had all chrome and wanted TG. Switching out those pieces was MUCH cheaper than buying a new pole. The performance of the pole is not affected; it’s just two-toned now. Some may not like the two-toned look, but it doesn’t bother me.

    Awesome as.

Do you guys ever find your TG poles get TOO grippy? My only reason for wanting to keep the chrome is a fear that the TG might be too grippy as it moves into summer.

Having another look at the Xpole Aust site it’d cost me $360 to buy both poles + an extension whereas it’s $499 for the TG set. Considering I have a friend willing to buy my chrome pole from me it would be a lot cheaper for me to simply upgrade to a new pole (and my friend gets a cheaper second hand one to boot).

It’s hard to say about too grippy. I think it still depends on what kind of heat in summer and body. When it’s humid I sweat more, thus body is slippery. I prefer too grippy, although I’m not much into spins, more tricks, etc. so it doesn’t bother me as much.

Like I said, my first xpole was 50mm titan gold. When I wanted a 45mm, I got chrome and regretted it, so with bday money, overtime, etc. I bought a 45mm titan gold and did keep both, thinking I’d switch based on weather. I only switched once and after a year or so, sold the chrome. Once in a while I have issues with slippery pole, but it’s more manageable. Hopefully others can give advice. I know it’s so hard to decide.
