I’ve searched all xpole discussions and found nothing about the top adapter. I just got a new 40 mm chrome and I can’t wait to get on it! I have a 50 and know exactly what I’m doing when it comes to setting it up. I have my new 40 ready to go except for the top. The top adapter that is supposed to insert into my top extension piece will not go in!! It has these two lines of rubbery stuff on it (don’t have that on my 50 top adapter piece) and it seems that these things are in the way of being able to completely push the adapter in the extension. There is no xjoint in the way or anything. If I could just get it in there, I could put the top on and be ready to go. I called xpole and left a message but haven’t heard anything back yet. If anyone has had this issue, please respond! Thanks 🙂

Mine does not have these rubber rings on them. I've been talking to Xpole about problems with my pole and the person mentioned them, but they're not on mine. Weird…. Maybe thats why its a problem, cuz they said they're sending me a new one of that piece. *shrug* mine has always just dropped right into the tube and you put the dome on top *scratches head*

Do you have a 40? My 50 doesn’t have the black rubbery rings but the 40 does. My 50 just slides right in too! The 40 will not go past the first black ring! It’s so annoying :-(. Hopefully xpole will get back with me soon!

Yeah mines an April 2011 50mm. The email I got from xpole said they were able to correct very minor unevenness for the ceiling dome but not meant to compensate for any type of large issue. Maybe it just needs a little bit of working in, though I’ve assumed you tried that…

One thing. It is more important that the upper done is absolutely flat on the ceiling than the pole is 100% vertical. If it is not 100% vertical the base will take out any alignment issues but it the done is not flat pressure will be put on one edge which again loads up the shaft/insert. We do have rubber 0- Rings on the bearing unit to allow for any very small alignment issues but not to cope with any major ones.

My hubby just got home and I guess his big muscles did the trick! He just pushed it in with force. I don’t think it will ever come back out lol! Now it’s up and ready to go 🙂
