:< Why does my leg hurt?
Classrom m201
So I had an interesting experience on Saturday. My leg cramped 3 times in gemini. After sufficient warm up.
Didn’t think anything of it, sometimes that happens and all I can think of when it happens is, “well, guess I better uninvert myself before my leg muscles stop functioning and I fall off the pole and die.” I’ve been doing gemini for 7 months, and I only remember this like..as a more recent, within the last three months sort of thing.
ANYWAY. My mother the nurse was completely not helpful. The pain I am experiencing is a tightness, similar to the kind you get from lactic acid buildup. But it’s been 5 days, and there has been almost no improvement in the last three. The first day (Sunday) I could only walk on my toes with my left foot. Walking with a flat foot was impossible. I was getting really bad pain from the back of the ankle all the way to the knee cap, but only when the foot was flexed straight. If I were to lay in bed and rest my leg, no problem. The next day, I could actually stretch (slowly) to a point where I could stand flat footed, but then if I moved my muscles would “forget” I stretched them and rubberband back into tightness. Tuesday I could walk with my feet flat but it is not pleasent.
Today is now Weds/Thursday (Thursday 1am) and I have not seen improvement since Tuesday. My mom assumed it was a blood clot, so I went to the ER and had an ultra-sound done. No bood clots (yay!). What I find interesting is that I have a knot behind the knee, about an inch lower than the patella, on the almost back of my calf. It’s right above the spot you get definition at when you tone your legs. According to google, it would be at the top of the medial head. Now when I stretch back it goes almost to the ankle. Again, stretching does not seem to help, my muscles seem to “forget” they’ve been stretched the second I let go of my toes. I am stretching them the same way you stretch your calves when you train for your splits. I know that’s not what did it, either. I’ve had my left side splits for 8 months, and can get into them cold no issues. I’m using a heating pad on them right now, and that seems to alieviate pain but not stiffness. Looking for suggestions as to how to get this to stop/what I did wrong so it doesn’t happen again. Sorry for my novel-length posts, just wanted to include as much information as possible @_@
