    hello ladies…

i hope everyone is well… I have a quick question, any help/opinions are greatly appreciated!

does anyone here know about aerial hoops, aka lyra??? I have always had an interest in them and would like to start pursuing…but I am not sure where to get them, classes, etc. I am also curious as to do pole dancers have somewhat of an advantage??? like would it be a little easier to learn since pole dancing is an aerial art in itself???? thanks!

what part of the country are you located…having a pole background definitely helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Also how flexible are you…flexibility really comes into play with the lyra.

Yes! Being a pole dancer gives you a great advantage on the Lyra! you already have upperbody and core strength, it’s just now being able to find balance and stability. My studio just got some hoops installed about a month ago and they are amazing. Flexibility definitely helps! I would try searching for a circus school/pole studio and inquiring if they have hoop lessons. I love the Lyra https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I hope you’re able to give it a try!!

I haven’t done Lyra, but I’ve done trapeze and I really like the transition from pole to silks or trap. I found it wasn’t much struggle to do things just much scarier.

Hey there, my sister in law lives in VA (I live in Maryland) and she recently started taking lyra classes. She went yesterday as a matter of fact. I think the classes are Wednesdsay and Sundays. I’m going to see if I can go with her next week when she goes. I’ll ask her the name of the place for you.

Ok sis-in – law says (not knowing where in VA you live) that she reccomends you look into divafitonline.com or TSNY in DC. I think there’s one in B-more too….
