I've heard of pole studios offering "rail" class like the horizontal railing around the stage at strip clubs, but nothing like that.

I searched around a bit and ended up with "Ballet Barre"  Hope that helps.

Never heard of "barre" dancing before, but that performer does have her own website.  She sells aerial instruction manuals and is supposed to be releasing an aerial hoop manual soon. I have her aerial fabric instruction manuals and have found them extremely helpful.  I didn't see any mention of "barre dancing" on the website, but here is her website contact page if you want to get ahold of her… http://aerialdancing.com/AerialDancing/Contact.html.

I have her aerial silks and aerial yoga manuals and love them! Didn't know she is doing a hoop one as well…that's cool 🙂

I think someone asked the same question on the Youtube video link and she explained that she started using the barre for dance but in more of a trapeze style so she named it "barre dance".

Before owning my Xpole, I was goofing off doing something similar on a shower curtain pole once, but a barre is obviously more suitable and safe, lol. Last weekend, I just got to try out the lyra hoop, aerial sillks and an X stage; all of which are on my wishlist now, so the good review and link for these manuals are invaluable to me. Thanks!
