I actually find spins to be FAR easier than any kind of elbow/head/hand stand!
For moves like those, you could have alternates for newbies of various skills. -
Is this the list we want…I’ll record in the AM tomorrow (hopefully)
1. Fireman
2. Walk
3. Body waves
4. Squat
5. Pirouettes
6. Shoulder slide
7. Easy Up
8. Kicks
9. Sit
10. Attitude spin
11. Back hook spin
12. Pole Hold? -

-
Whoops cross post with Veena. Yes love those suggestions too!
Is a pole hold hop same as prance? I thought they were same. Prance is already in.

I’m really excited because
1. I don’t know what half these things are!!!
2. This feels like a challenge I can do in clothes! That’s what I like about the yoga challenge. I don’t have to commit to changing my clothes or getting super sweaty. 🙂 The IG challenges that are more trick related are just something I can’t find the time and energy to do each day. 🙂
-
lol I saw that you had that listed too, after I suggested.
No prance is different

Agree this isn’t just for beginners, it’s about fundamental basics. We can all benefit from chasing perfect form in the basics. Just like world class ballet dancers take time every day to do basic grand plié at the barre and to improve it every day,
#back2basicpole?

I’m good with that hashtag…
But something just popped in my head. Everyone know that song that is everywhere? All About the Bass.
I was thinking #allaboutthebase or maybe SVallaboutthebase. Meaning these moves are our base/foundation.
I don’t know, maybe I’m grabbing at straws. When it’s late my mind gets all weird 😜
-
I deeply dislike that song, but I agree with SVbeautifulbasics or back2basicpole
Something that links us back to SV would be nice 🙂 -
I think people searching for beginner pole moves will be unlikely to find anything using any of the tags so far, but users can individually tag their posts. #beginnerpoletrick or #polebeginnermove or whatever as well as the name of the move eg #polefireman #firemanspin if they want to attract the attention of IG users new to pole searching for inspo.
However actually calling it a ‘beginner’ challenge I think will put off quite a few experienced dancers who might otherwise try it out. Positioning it as a ‘back to pole basics/fundamentals’ gives it wider appeal and reflects the idea that whatever stage we are at on our pole journey we can all benefit from training the core basics and working to perfect our form.
So after that long woffle I vote for ‘SVback2basics’ or ‘SVpolebasics’ because basics is less likely to be spelled wrong than fundamental!

Just seen Runemist’s suggestion #SVback2basicpole’ and I think that’s the best so far!
