I have an X-pole Xpert 45mm Chrome and I love it. X=Pole is all-around fantastic. The xpert is both stationary and spinning. It is pretty much my favorite thing that I own. I would recommend Xpole!

It’s a really, really difficult thing to say which is the “best” pole. It depends on what you prefer for grip, how you want it to mount, and your climate. Some people find Titanium Gold to be the very best for grip, and others prefer chrome- still others like Stainless steel, and powder coated.
For mounting, you have the Lil mynx which has one screw into the ceiling (in my experience, very easily covered over if you move out of the place or are renting), and X-pole which goes up by pressure alone. Both have their pro’s and con’s, and both have a strong fan following. There is also Platinum stages, which I believe is like X-pole, and also has a fairly strong following.
Personally, I’ve used Lil Mynx exclusively for my dancing, and have never been let down unless it was from MY error- such as not getting the fitting correct, or not realizing that the joist it was going into was metal, and thus about a quarter of an inch thick (remedied by fortifying the mounting point). I’ve recently switched from a stainless steel pole that I had for over 5 years to the new StudioVeena pole, which I love. It’s got a bit of a squeak on the rotating setting, but… it doesn’t really bother me when I’m dancing.
As RebelRaiser indicates, people do love their X-poles. I haven’t had much experience with them, so I cannot say for sure. I’ve heard good and bad things, as I have for all three of the manufacturers.

Do your research, take a chance!

The 45mm Xpole static/spinning options. The 50 is good too, it’s the one I got but it’s harder when you’re starting because it’s thicker pole and requires better grip when doing spins and such. But it’s good to practice on both. Personally I’m glad I get to use a 50 because its standard and it builds your grip, but I’m getting a 45. I find the 45 more comfortable and i do have pretty small hands I should add. And get chrome and some grip for the slippery days. I’m in Florida, some people say your climate matters but I only get to feel one climate.

Lil Mynx is probably the most reasonable of them all. Or if you can find a *real* used XPole. The three that are mentioned are the only ones that should be considered.

Depends on what you’re looking for in a pole….

If you want to set up and remove your pole fast, and have fast switch from static to spin and back, then the Studioveena pole would be great. It’s the standard 45mm diameter and has a great purple powered coated grip! It does adjust from 9-10ft!

If you want a pole that you can take with you places or change the height significantly then go with xpert, x-pole. Unfortunately they don’t have a powder coated pole, so choosing a finish that works for you can be tricky. My suggestions are the Titanium gold or… for dancers who have moist body skin (if you tend to sweat a lot all over when you exercise) try the brass. I would go with the 45mm. You will need to use a hex key to unlock the xpert from static to spin.

Both can also be used on vaulted ceiling if you purchase and adaptor.

I’ve had two chrome xperts static/spinning. One 45 and one 50 mm. I’ve moved several times and have no issues with damage to the ceilings or floor. Easily removable and installed, I didn’t need assistance. 45 was easier to play on when doing spins but I prefer my 50 mm for leg grips and inverts. I also have a platinum stage star stand alone. It’s awesome. I take it everywhere! Park, backyard, and room in my home, and it’s also been used at downtown markets to advertise a studio to the public. If you’re unsure and before you spend the money go around to different studios and feel and play. We have powder coat lol minx and stainless steel 50mms at mine and I love the powder coat. I can be very productive in class.

Do not buy the Carmen Pole!!!! Stay with big names like lil mynx (our pole) or xpole and PS. You can use all of these poles on carpet. I have my SV pole on carpet right now 🙂

As Veena said- the Carmen Electra pole is basically a scam. It’s advertised as being able to take your weight, but it CAN’T and I have heard of some very bad falls when that pole gives up it’s job.
I’ve found that the Lil Mynx poles, like the SV pole, are awesome on carpet! They grip really well.
Personally I find the powder coating to be extremely grippy, so it’s awesome for practicing holds and things. I can do more on this pole than I could on my stainless steel- I was a bit nervous about grip on that one. 🙂
