camcorder
Posted by emotioncatcher on April 26, 2012 at 8:06 amHey guys, I know there are a few topics already about camcorders, but most are quite old and technology changes so fast. I need really urgent a new camcorder.
I´ve used a cheap digital camera before (about 50€) and liked the quality of the videos, it even had the option to film in HD. But the sound is miserable, after a few seconds it becomes asynchronous 🙁 which really sucks, because I always have to remove the music.
any tipps? the camcorder should be cheap max. 100€ (but the cheaper the better)
I´ll have my first performance next friday, so it´s urgent 😀

I have another question: is it easy to film the complete pole inside with the flip? and can you put it on a tripod.
I´ve found one on ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Flip-Video-MinoHD-3rd-Generation-Camcorder-1-Hour-Silber-Fun-Garantiert-/120901375777?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder&hash=item1c26489721#ht_4150wt_1154
Is this the one you mean? -
Yep all my vids on here were shot with my flip. It easy to use and idiot proof too and the best part is it has a USB port built into it, so you can upload vids you shoot to your computer immediately after shooting it. They sell a tripod for the flip but it's short, so you'll have to prop it up on something eye level or find a tall tripod that will be compatible with the flip, which all you have to do is go into your local electronics store and someone there should be able to help you find a tall tripod that will work for it.
I'd shop around though you can probably find the flip for a little lower price somewhere else.
This is the one that I have you definitely want a 3rd generation flip at least 4 GB but if you can afford an 8 GB, I'd say go for the bigger memory. http://www.amazon.com/Flip-UltraHD-Video-Camera-White/dp/B0040702IE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1335502491&sr=8-3

i am wondering how far the camera has to be from the pole, in order to get the entire pole in the picture.
i too have a cheap digital camera (kodak easyshare). it has an HD option, but you can only get about 6 feet of the pole in the pic. so i never record in HD. i would like to find something a little better quality. my videos are in 640 x 480, which is fine – but i like to capture photos from them, and the photo quality is not very good. i know of some good cameras, but they are all around $700. any ideas anyone?

thanks 😀 I think I already fell in love with that little cute camera. I´ll search for the one you sent me in germany as I need it next friday.

the ultra seems to be sold out everywhere 🙁 could only found the mino, but the differences aren´t too big. 1h filming should be enough.
i found another beautiful little camera: Kodak Zi8 in pink, but also not available at the moment, only a used one on ebay
I think I´ll get the Mino HD, should be enough for me ^^ and it´s super cheap

lol again me… I bought the Flip Slide HD 😀 Found it on amazon.de and it´ll be here on wed/thu next week. It can film 4h in HD and 12 hours in lower quality
Thanks for the tipp cali!!Tarah, maybe that one would be good for you, too? Or the Ultra HD cali suggested

I brought my flip back. It records everything in widescreen, and with pole i want vertical. The guy at the store said all cams record that way. 🙁 i end up ussing my ipad now. Not as clear as flip but easier for me.

If your pole doesn’t fit in the frame, just download “free flip and rotate” from dvdsoft (Google it), and you can film it sideways and flip the video later.
-
which one did you have lyme? the one i´ll get has 1.280 x 720 pixels and the old camera I had , too and I liked it fir filming pole videos. I film vertical when I only film one pole and horzontal when I film two poles and it worked good.
But I saw videos filmed with a Ipad and if I would have one, I would use that to film, too and wouldn´t buy a camera 😉

Ec, i dont know what flip it was. And i tried to do the flip and rotate software and could never get that to work. Just not tech savy!

I am also in the market for a small budget friendly camcorder so I was happy to see this thread. While looking at the Flip UltraHD that was recomended I came accross a Sony Bloggie Duo. What appeals to me about it is that it has a screen on both sides. So when you are trying to set up the camera to record yourself poling you will be able to easily see what is in the shot from the front screen. I think this it the one I will get. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Bloggie-Duo-Camera-White/dp/B004H8FNCG/ref=sr_1_2?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1335536591&sr=1-2
