what is a good quality camera to use that is decently price under $150? -

i love my GoPro, it has a wide lens so is perfect for filming pole and stretch, but the camera itself is really small but waterproof and very robust – it doesnt mind if you drop it 😉
it is not the most amazing camera but with good light it does take great films/pictures – for me the main benefits are the other features – it’s very well suited to a polers lifestyle i think!! =) -
On the gopro: it isn’t designed to work in indoor environments. So while it will work fine in low light/indoors thats not what it’s made for so in *good light* is a super key phrase when it comes to the gopro. I just mention this because I’m a bit of a midnight poler and had I done it over, I would probably have gotten a diff camera for that reason. But if you pole in a space with natural light it’s really a fantastic camera. If you pole indoors/at night it’s conparable to the iPhone 6 camera (which is stil a great camera and is actually what I use)

Yesss definitely! Ha i never realised it wasnt meant for indoors! derrp 😉 its funny my films are real hit and miss with the go pro cos it doesn’t have a screen, so if I haven’t angled it just right I get really dark videos and I don’t find out til afterwards booo that is really annoying =\ but on the other hand, if I catch the light right I do get good film inside as well, and I never have to worry about ‘fitting all of me in’ – u can easily get the whole room in the frame hah; at the studio I try to angle it so I’m not filming everyone. I do love the fact that I can chuck it about and I don’t have to be careful with it.

I totally love my Gopro and use it indoors with no troubles. I know there are different kinds of GPs so the need for great light might be one of the older models or ones that are best for outside. I love mine! It’s a GoPro Hero 4, it’s the BEST solution if you dance in a small space and want to capture more of your room. 🙂

I had a gopro that I wanted to use just for poling indoors and I hated it and returned it. It was a hero 4 black. I don’t know what the problem was but my movies always looked awful. Bad lighting and bad focus in video. I had to go back and doctor them in editing, which took a lot of time. Plus, with the lens being wide angle, you have to be really close to an object or have the camera super close to you if it’s a selfie. Plus, it becomes very complicated if you want to share the videos. I ended up getting a Samsung Galaxy s5 phone which has an amazing camera and it’s super easy to film and share my pics and videos.

Yeah, I was hesitant to buy one because I’ve heard bad things! Mine is the silver and so far it’s been great.

I bought a GoPro for poling also and just end up using my phone. I don’t find the GoPro very intuitive, don’t like that there is no screen to see what you’re filming (although you can see it on your phone or ipad if linked) and the battery didn’t seem to last long. I’m sure if I applied myself it would work fine if not great but I just find the phone so much easier.

I love my gopro but frequently I forget to charge it and I’m lazy and I just end up using my phone, or more likely my MacBook because it’s easy to prop up, and clip a wide angle lends on it.

I also had the black hero 4 so maybe it was just that model and the silver is better. I need to get it replaced anyways so maybe the replacement will be better.
