does it matter whether you use the inside or outside leg for it to constitute as a cocoon? I've got loads of pole photos of moves I want to do and when I studied them I noticed that nearly everyone was using the inside leg for cocoon. Unsure whether this is just a coincidence or whether you're meant to use the outside leg hang for it.

I know there is extreme gemini as well – not entirely sure what the difference is? My outside leg hang is so much more stable than my inside leg hang, does it matter which one I use?

I think it is easier as an inside leg hang as you will not be reaching across your body to grab the hanging leg.

Here, let me try to explain.  If you are in an inside leg hang, your inside arm is in front of the pole, outside is behind.  Much easier to reach back with the outside arm to grab that outside leg and then move the body behind the pole.

Now switch…outside leg hang the inside arm is still in front of the pole.  Now you have to reach diagonally acrodd your body to grab the "free" leg, which is your inside leg.  Your body is going to be twisted making getting your body on the opposite side of the pole more difficult….at least this is how I see it in my mind.

You can do it from either. I find I'll get two different looks depending on if I use and inside or outside leg hang.

The first pic is from inside the second is from an outside….

i sometimes do a variation between the scorpio and gemini. i start in one of them an bring my belly to the front of the pole. like this i´m right in the middle of both.

i first tried it like this because i felt like i had better grip in this position =)

Veena, love your pictures…..I think I like the look of the outside hang better.  Maybe it is the outfit and the heels.   🙂

thanks for the help ladies, emotioncatch thats what I've been doing too – bringing my body in front first as I agree it seems more secure at the moment.

Thanks for posting the pics Veena, I had never seen how much of a  difference the two leg grips make to the overall shape of the move

Chemgoddess you're explaination makes perfect sense and is very helpful, thanks 🙂

How do I post a picture on here if it's straight from my desktop? I can try and show you my first try at the cocoon so you can see what I'm doing
