Hey everyone…… so I have a couple questions relating to poles… I tried looking through here but didn’t find my answers 🙁

    Anywoo……..

1st question……… what is your opinon of a show or competition with 2 poles but different sizes?? 1- 50 and 1 – 45?

Next question…. has anyone done a performance on the star stand alone?? I know a lot of people use the xstage……. is the star stand alone really secure for moves such as an iron x or the inverted fang move (I don’t know a name for it) or for a lot of momentum like with a powerful reverse grab??

    Thanks for your help!!

I would never mix pole sizes for a show or competition.  Typically one is in static and one is in spin.  It is hard enough for people to prep on one size or another, you don't need to add more difficulty by changing sizes up on them.

As for SSA, I would never use this for a show or competition.  I have quite a few issues still with the SSA but the biggest for a show would be the height of the pole.  Even though the SSA will not tip all the way over I still have had one "walk" on me and that is very un-nerving, even more so for those that have never experienced it.  For smaller/shorter people it may not be an issue, but me with heels on totally changes things.  Don't get me wrong, I have shifted an X stage on power moves but not as routinely as I have shifted an SSA.

In all of my shows I have had a 45 X- Stage Lite and 50 Standard X-Stage – and I know it's a pain BUT it's all we have and we have a VERY small budget to work with because for half of our shows we didn't even charge so we haven't got the capital to get another pole.

I know for some it was a pain but everyone has  done really well and we give everyone advanced notice as to what they are dancing and that the 50 is in spin – it's been the best can do.

SSA – there are a lot of mixed feelings about that and I'm keeping my mouth shut because any thread regarding it gets ugly.
