I think I cud have gone a little higher but Im almost 6 feet tall!

Im not ready for heels but would some type of shoe like a ballet slipper help to prevent some bruising?

Congrats and just keep climbing, gail!! Your foot will eventually get used to it. Also, try using your shin a bit more to take some of the pressure off of the foot. It takes some practice, but it will wind up being a prettier climb that way. Yay!

Gail I shiny plastic or patent leather would… but honestly I recommend building up to it. You will find way harder moves down the line and will wish you had already conditioned your feet 🙂 Good luck and congrats!

Thanks! I will just try to "grin and bear it" lol, and I do bruise easily. I have noticed the thigh bruises dont develop as much now.

YAYYY congrats!!! climbing is such a GREAT strength builder!!
Like Saphyre mentioned, use more of your shin / ankle to climb, rather than the top of your foot. the bones in your feet are tiny and delicate, and it can really hurt them to hold your whole weight. it might take a bit of adjusting (took me ages!) but not only is climbing with proper form prettier, its much, much safer!

Congrats! Climbing can be tough. I skinned my ankle climbing. Keep at it!

Well done! It took me a while to grasp the "mechanics" of how to climb, but now I find it so satisfying to be able to climb to the top of the pole at the studio 🙂

I just learned to climb last week and am also sporting a bruised foot! I use arnica cream on my bruises because I also bruise very easily. I should be taking out some stock in that stuff the way I am using it lol
