fixing shoes–what glue?
Posted by Krista Bocko on July 23, 2012 at 10:56 amMy new shoes need to be glued. 🙁 I tried using the regular super glue I already had but it didn't work…what is a good glue to really adhere and withstand bending, etc.?
Thanks!

I'm a big fan of gorilla glue. I used to be an exotic dancer and it's what I used on my soles when they would bein to peel. It has to sit overnight with pressure on it just fyi so put the glue on and then tie it/band it somehow overnight.

Be forewarned that gorilla glue expands and makes a foam like bond. A little goes a long way and it probably will seep out the seams a bit.
What specifically on your shoes is coming apart? I have a few different glues I use for different things.

I can't figure out how to upload a pic within this post so I posted one here: https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/500d8ae3-d858-4e4b-a951-02510ac37250

Ugh…..I had that happen to my favorite boots and did not find a single glue that held for more than a night; although mine were the clear acrylic bottoms. Gorilla glue.

Just get it clamped/banded nice and tight overnight and you shouldn't have any issues with it coming out of the seam. A little does go a long way though. Oh, and when you press it closed and band it if any seeps out wipe it off so the outside of the shoe will remain clean 🙂
