hey veeners! after the may challenge i decided to wear more often high heels when i´m on my pole as it was so much fun. but now i´m going to move in another appartement with parquet floor which would get destroyed from high heels…

any ideas how to solve this problem? i definitely don´t want to have to replace the floor when we will leave the appartement in some years…

i hope someone can help me ^^

What about getting different high heels?  Instead of stilleto heels, what about a more "chunky" type heel?

Maybe just get one of those clear office chair mats and put it under the pole?

Can you build your own hardwood floor to place under your pole- like a removable dance floor?

thanks for all the great suggestions!

@stevesgirl: this might work for others but i just love my stilleto heel too much ^^

@chemgoddess: i have those foam mats which were mentioned in one and once walked over them with heels and they couldn´t stand the pressure of the heel… they might get completely destroyed when i dance on them. but i liked the idea of just using a carpet which would be also cheap. i could cut a slot from the side to the hole in the middle and put it always away while the pole could stay.

@jessesgirl: this is my favourite idea so far as there are even clear once you nearle don´t see and they might be good to walk on with heels! do you know wheather they slip on the ground? because i would could them like the carpet so that it would be removable.

you all made my day! it was such a shock when my mother yesterday said to me " you know you can´t wear high heels in your new apartment on the parquet?"!

but now i can´t wait to pole there!

@kobajo: love that idea. maybe my dad could do that for me. but i i don´t know how expensive that would be? i think i´ll first try the office mat as i can do this on my own and only cost about 10€ and i can cut it on my own. but for the future your idea would be more pretty =)

i just read in another forum something about a little piece of silicone to put over the heels which other dancers use to dance on parquet. does anyone know something about that?

emotioncatcher, you should not be putting that much pressure on your heels.  For  a long time I had a piece of panelling that I bought at Home Depot under my pole.

I hate carpet floorwork. Can I lay a piece of linoleum down over my carpet, or is that a recipe for disaster?

Huge recipe for disaster. Chemmie, was that sheet of bathroom business stable? Maybe I could find a MASSIVE piece and slide along slide along. I swear I hate renting. I should just pull it up and dare them to complain about new hardwood floors.

it´s not a matter of the pressure with the foam mats, it´s just because of the shape… how expensive was the panel? i ordered now the special designed protectors for my heels as this might be the easiest solution, but i´m unsure wheather it´ll work

Amcut ~ girl hardwood isn't the answer either hunny. I've got hard wood floors. I danced in heels like once and left all sorts of grooves in the floor from where my heels scraped the wood. My hubby was su upset at me. So now I have heels but I can't do anything that would cause them to drag or hit the floor. Mostly all I can do is climb and walk in a circle…totally sux! I wonder what the ideal floor would be cuz it seems nothing is really good at taking a stilleto beating….unless you have cement floors right? Boooo

so who has floors that don't scratch at all???(excluding carpet lol)

Our studio has hardwood floors and we don't have a problem at all.

..that’s strange! It must be a soft wood. I had hardwoods in my last home and my heels left scuffs that I could clean up, but no gouges…

Of course, then I was complaining about my knees hurting from the hard hard wood. LOL
