I am not very good at free style. I am a dancer. I used to ballroom dance. and basically I follow my partner. I am now a zumba and Dance It Out instructor and I follow choreography. I do encourage my students here and there to free style, but I always do the same moves in my classes.
So with pole, free style not my strong suite either. But yesterday I got in the zone. I closed my eyes, really let the music lead me and danced my little heart out. Ok I am clumsy and tripped over my feet here and there. I didn’t do any tricks, I just twirled and spinned to the beat of my heart. It felt so good. Now hopefully I can find that zone more often.

of course not. That would make it to perfect 😉 But maybe if I was taping I wouldnt have been able to get in the zone like that.

I too used to be a dancer, following routines (my first school as a child wasn’t exactly supportive of freestyling) and now Iv found pole, I’m the worst at it!!! But I put on a song the other day and attempted it. Felt so embarrassed even though I was in my own, but feel if I do a freestyle just once a week it’ll help me find my ‘zone’ a bit better and build my confidence 🙂
Glad you had a good freestyle and found your ‘zone’! X
