I moved to GA in Feb and while yes they have tons of stuff for acting or modeling very few did pole studios. I want to learn enough to one day compete and then open my own studio but all the ones I see here are more geared not for the competing aspect but for the shake it on a stage for money. I don’t have a problem with strippers had a few friends who were one. But I want to learn the technical side too. Don’t think would be a good show if could do anything besides basic spins and booty pop. But it’s not just that I see in here tons of workshops and certifications but noneare ever in GA and just wondered why is that? I would live to learn from the best but they always go to fl, nc and places like that is there a reason they never come here and does anyone know of good inexpensive professional studios near Atlanta? I like an hour away but that’s where all the studios are I’m more located going towards Alabama. Also for anyone else wanting to go to these workshops out of state does anyone want to room share to save on money if so let me know

Go to facebook and look up Heidi Coker. She is awesome. She teaches at Pole Waxer's University.

I do believe one of my friends is going to open a pole studio about an hour out of Atlanta. Also, you might be able to pick up some interesting floor work from those places. 😉

I went to polalateaz for a year which has a more dance focus. It is downtown. Which specific area are you moving to? There are a number of studios inside Atlanta and a few outside the perimeter.

I live in locust grove I tried polelateaz and lets say not a good experience so been teaching myself at home using jamilla devile dvds. Talked to Heidi about one on one lessons but also want to incorporate studio learning I think when you are in a class or group atmosphere you learn different things then one know one which I will also doto help me strengthen moves I learnand fix any problem areas I have. So good with one on knees jniw but want to meet ppl since know no one and do class lessons too

Sorry to hear your experience was poor. It is important at polelateaz to enroll in the series classes, which are actual pole instruction. Each series has a structured cirriculum. The drop in classes act to complement and expand your repitoire or give you a workout. The series classes are smaller especially past the first two level, which creates a more intimate setting and allows you to make friends. The drop in series are not ideal for making friends or learning new aerial moves. I wasn't sure which classes you had taken, but I thought I would let you know.  Hiedi Coker is going to start teaching the level 7 class.

In town there is Dance 411, pole waxers, and verticle joes plus a few more that opened recently. There is also Dance Fitness in Peachtree City, which might be closer to you. I haven't been to these but some of my classmates have. They each have a different style and emphasis. Studio hopping is considered okay but a regular structured class can help create a good foundation and get you plugged into the community. Hope you find a studio that fits you.
