good experiences with x-pert?
Posted by polefairy on November 17, 2010 at 1:10 amso I’ve been planning on buying a new pole but I’m seriously discouraged by the amount of negative comments I’ve read about stiff and stuck joints, damaged parts etc.
Has anybody got an x-pert, assembled it easily and got it up and running without any problems? If you have can you please share your experience here as I have been seriously put off by some other people’s bad experiences with them.
Thanks.

I’ve had a great experience once i realized i wasn’t tightening the hex’s enough.

I also hesitated due to comments and issues shared. I’ve had mine couple of months and haven’t had any problems. My hubby paid special attention to the tightening technique described by many. We have taken it down few times due to repair work in the room, company, etc. and put back up with no problem. I hope this helps.

I’ve had no problems at all. On a weekly basis I’ll move the pole between my bedroom and living room depending on where I feel like poling. I also manage this by myself and I’m not the strongest person. I do have low ceilings though so my pole isn’t a high one which might make it more difficult to put up alone.

I just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif: In my opinion, every single type and brand of pole is prone to problems of one kind or another, and a lot of problems fall under the category of user error (not all problems, obviously, just a lot of them ). Everyone is different: need different features, put different kinds of stress on the pole depending on their weight, moves they do, etc. and encounter different problems with different kinds of poles because of that.
I think what it comes down to is finding the type of pole that you feel meets your needs and then making sure that you do lots of research on how to take care of it – read up on what to do to avoid problems and what to do if you do have a problem. Stuff may still happen, but you decrease the chances by taking good care of it.
People didn’t like the original X-Poles with the threaded joints because people were getting them stuck, so they came out with the X-joints; now people are having problems with those, too. I have one of the originals and while my joints do get stuck occasionally, I’ve been around long enough that I know several tricks to getting them to come apart and have always (eventually) succeeded. So I would say if you’ve decided the X-Pert is the pole for you, then go ahead and do it – just read up and make sure you take good care of it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I initially had some problems with my xpert but once I figured that out I have had no problems at all. I’ve taken it down twice and put it back up without any fuss. It’s a good pole and I love the bottom loading. I guess it all depends on what’s more important for you. Personally, I’m happy with mine https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
(50mm chrome xpert) best wishes with yours doll! -
My X-pert assembled the way it is now for in my apartment is great. Any product looks horrible if you read all the negatives. You should really analyze if you can live with the problems and fixes. I check my hex screws every time before I pole, I can deal with that and made it part of my warm up.
I do have an issue with the leftover extension’s X-joint. I need to tap the locking pin in a little because its too long to get into the rest of the pole as is. I’m just to lazy to mess with it because I don’t need it.

remedy for tall celings..once you find the stud, put a piece of painting tape up there in the ceiling along the beam. it’s about the same width as the stud and then you never have to get up there and find it again…or you can draw a pencil circle around the dome..I’ve got a big x made with blue painter’s tape so I don’t have to find my stud and I can put up my xpert all by myself…I usually prop it against the couch and pust hand over hand until it’s upright then jostle it until it’s in teh middle of the X. works nice for me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
